Historic buildings line the beautifully scenic streets of downtown Hood River, with a bustling shopping district featuring boutiques, designer shops, outdoor adventure gear outfitters, antique shops, art galleries and no less than 30 restaurants.

There are many orchards and vineyards in Hood River. The Hood River Valley is known for its luscious apples, pears, cherries, peaches and other fruits, and for the view of the majestic snowcapped peak of Mt. Hood. People from all over Oregon make an annual trek in the fall to the many farm stands to stock up on fresh apples and pears. Other produce is available, and varies by season. The award-winning Hood River Vineyards is located on a hillside overlooking the Hood River Valley. Their tasting room features traditional wines, and fruit liqueurs.

The Columbia River Gorge, with its magnificent views make this a dream spot for a destination wedding.

Wind surfing capital of the world is Hood River's latest distinction. The winds from the Columbia River Gorge, best during the middle of the day, create ideal conditions for riding the waves. To enjoy the view of "boardheads" at play, drive to the Columbia Gorge Sailpark or follow Second Street to the waterfront.

The Mt. Hood region and its more than sixty miles of forested mountains, 77 waterfalls and myriad lakes and streams are a rip-roaring mecca for outdoor adventure. The mountain is home to four ski areas and offers the country's only year-round skiing and snowboarding.

Lovely location - with a few flaws
We loved our stay here and the flaws were minor. But they were, still, slight annoyances. We arrived in the late afternoon, right at check-in time (4:00pm) and followed the direction to get in the front door. Annoyance #1: Once you find the key in the lockbox, actually getting the front door unlocked and open is a challenge. Judging from the comments left in the guest book, this has been an ongoing annoyance for years. Annoyance #2: It was chilly when we arrived and we looked for instructions on how to turn on the heat. There were none. There are two free-standing AC units for hot days, but for cold days...how does one warm the house upon arrival? I texted the listed contact number and got no response. After some searching, we found the baseboard heaters and turned the dials to start them warming up. A simple note would have helped us locate them sooner. Annoyance #3: The back door, leading to the hot tub, is always locked from the outside. If you close it on the way out to the tub and you're the last person leaving the house, you'll be locked out. Annoyance #4: The main full bath upstairs has just one vanity that appears to have been built for a small child. Yes, these things are minor. We laughed and rolled with the punches. Knowing these things in advance, we would still likely stay here again. The location is great, and the proximity to places for hiking, biking, and sightseeing is superb. The kitchen is well equipped. Beds were comfortable.

Hood River hideaway
Baja Norte was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway with friends. It is very quiet and secluded yet close to town and all of the activities. The kitchen was very well appointed and our dog really appreciated the fully enclosed yard.

A lovely little cabin
The house smelled (and was) very clean upon arrival. The hot tub was in excellent condition. It is a very well-maintained property. The bed was ok and there was a strange mis-mash of glasses at the house. I would definitely stay again.

Log cabin charm
Overall excellence. Rustic cabin is part of the vibe. Would've appreciated info on heating (instructions on baseboard heaters, given no thermostat, tips for lighting wood stove or whether flue had damper to open). A bit noisy given nature of upstairs floorboards, but overall liked the home, loved the setting, enjoyed the hot tub, well-stocked kitchen. Would rent again!

Perfect Relaxing Retreat!
Our stay was all about relaxing and playing music in a beautiful location. The woodburning stove was an awesome feature for a winter retreat, and the hot tub was clean and hot - everything you'd want. The house was only about a 10 minute drive to downtown, so it was super convenient. 10 out of 10!

Lovely cabin!
Lovely, cozy cabin. Easy to access. Hassle-free check-in. Very well stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels and linens, and bonus - they were super nice quality and clean! Loved the reading nook, all the greenery. One small thing that would help is some kind of way to know for sure that the hot tub will def be available before booking. Would def come back!

Great place to stay
Baja Norte was everything we could have asked for! It had everything we needed and more. The fully stocked kitchen and plentiful towels and linens were awesome to have and the ~multiple~ working AC units and several fans kept the place at the perfect temperature for us. As others said, the doors/door knobs can get a little tricky on the front door and upstairs bathroom but they didn't cause any real issues. The kitchen knives are dull but as long as you're careful, they didn't hinder anything. There was plenty of space for all of us the jacuzzi was AWESOME. Would absolutely stay here again!

Nice cabin but…
Your Comments Beautiful cabin with plenty of room and great location to Hood River, Parkdale and Mt. Hood. Would consider staying here again but there are a several details that are missing. Generally there is a lack of information on if/how the wood stove is used, how the cable TV is used, how to sharpen the super dull knives, and how/if the electric heaters are to be used. Also, it definitely had an “out of season” feel to it. The deck was not yet usable, no places to sit on the deck, and there is no yard. This place could be a four or even five star rating if details were addressed.

Wonderful location, clean and comfortable
We loved this house, comfy, cozy, clean, well stocked with everything needed for an enjoyable home base while exploring the area. Close to downtown but felt really quiet and secluded in the trees on a large lot. The hot tub was a wonderful treat at the end of each day. Comfy beds, lots of towels. Only thing that I would change about this house is the front and back doors automatically lock when closed so always put the key back in the lock box on the front porch or you could accidentally get locked out. The door shut behind us while we were in the hot tub and we had to walk around to the front door to get back in the house. But we will definitely stay here again 😊

Super Cozy Cabin!
My family loved our stay at the cabin, it is private and tucked in the woods, but super close to Hood River as well. The cabin is the best stocked property I've ever stayed at, it has everything but isn't cluttered at all. This location is only 20 min from amazing waterfalls and other activities, but also nice to build a fire and be cozt at home.

spring break
Nice place. Kitchen has a lot of nice amenities (coffee grinder, wok, etc). Perfect for dogs. We have 9 month and 10 year old boxers and it was perfect. The puppy wakes us early to go out and the backyard is completely fenced. I didn't worry about her at all. The living room was comfortable - lots of lighting to allow for reading. The window seating was great. Our puppy really liked it - we put a blanket down for her so she could sit up there and look out the window. Really happy with the space. Very comfy!
