These are very comfortable cabins right at the south tip of Badlands National Park, it's actually in the park. The sunsets over the ridges outside the door are spectacular. You must arrive before 7pm to get checked in though, as the reception desk closes up when the restaurant/gift shop in front does. The cabin is well kept, spacious, and has good wifi. A small porch with chairs makes for a nice dusky evening with a glass of one of the local wines (sold at the shop). You can't get closer to the Badlands than this, and it's worth the stop if you want to enjoy the location.
We absolutely loved our stay in one of the cabins at Cedar Pass. Very comfortable a, very spacious, easily the best place we stayed out during our two week tour. The view from our back porch was amazing. Can’t recommend enough!
No frills cabin. Clean, comfortable bed, right inside badlands park. Onsite restaurant with good food and friendly servers. Beware it closes at 6:30pm and doesn't open until 8am. If you are an early riser bring breakfast as nothing open. I would stay here again.
Overall great stay! There certainly is no better place to stay in the Badlands. My only real gripes were they lack of curtains in the room. I did not plan on waking up at 6 am with the sun, but such is the way of the world. There is only one place to eat in the whole park and the nearest other options are at least half an hour away. That being said the food served at the cafe was quite good and it is a great place to stay. Very rare to see this level of quality offered in the NPS system. Similar cabins in Yellowstone lack showers and private toilets, but the Cedar Pass cabins are well appointed and offer amenities that are in line with hotels that are not located in such a treasured location. Worthy of note is the exceptional Wifi service that is offered. Fast Wifi is available free of charge, another rare item in national parks.
