My daughter, granddaughter, and I stayed at the Old Field House last year and liked it so much that we came back this year. Rod and Linea are wonderful hosts, and Rod makes the best breakfasts ever. You have to try his made-to-order waffles with your choice of blueberries, chocolate chips, and/or bananas.
You'll love the Old Field House if you value an old-time feeling of comfort and tradition, much like you'd find at a beloved summer home that has been in the same family for generations. There's a hot tub and indoor swimming pool that my granddaughter loves, hammocks under the trees, bird feeders that attract hummingbirds outside the atrium breakfast room, and a campfire with s'mores at night.
Although you feel as though you're out in the country (or, I should say, in the mountains), the inn is close to North Conway, StoryLand, and not too far from Santa's Village, where we went this year. There are lots of restaurants in the vicinity. Rod and Linea feel like family now, and we're already looking forward to next year!
