Spectacular Views
The house is near the crest of Inverness Ridge, and three of four walls are floor-to-ceiling glass, so one can see the sun rise over Tomales Bay and set over the Pacific. It’s really quite something. Privacy isn’t a concern despite all the glass because there are no closely adjacent houses. The kitchen is small but complete and fully functional. There is one bed (king), and the sleeping and living areas are continuous, so it’s best for a couple not a larger group. Entrance is by a short outdoor spiral staircase, but once inside, everything is on the same level. There are covered decks on the lateral sides (~east/Tomales and ~west/Pacific) that would be quite pleasant in the summer (we were in late November, so it was too cold and dark to use the decks). Linens, wifi, and furnishings are all in good condition/fully functional. Really a special place for a couple.

Just Fantastic
Everything about this place is excellent. So peaceful and open. You might want to bring sleeping masks because the sunrise can be a bit bright in the mornings and there are no curtains on the windows. It's completely private though as it's high in the air. Highly recommended for a romantic get away.

Stay among the trees
Loved it. Great location that offered us our favorite locations, the best of both worlds, being ong the trees and near the ocean. The Hi House is remote enough to enjoy the nature but close enough to a few places to eat, including Point Reyes Station. We were very comfortable, slept great in the cool night time temperature and had everything we needed.

Had a "cool" stay at the Tree Top House
We enjoyed our second stay at the Tree Top House. It was "cool" with the 1960's style architecture & furniture, "cool" with the ocean fog and breezes through Point Reyes, and "cool" and chill in the bucolic setting with the deer hanging out on the property.

Unique and beautiful retreat
We stayed at Hi House for 2 nights and had a wonderful time! It has such a lovely view of the trees surrounding you. We woke up to the fog-shrouded trees which was magical. We definitely recommend for a quiet and private retreat for a couple.

Unique, mid-century modern glass house
This unique, mid-century modern glass house provided a beautiful Treetop level living experience. The Charming glass house provided 200° wraparound view of forest, Lagoon, and ocean views enhanced by local wildlife in quiet harmony with nature. The facilities were in excellent shape, thoughtfully planned and fully functional providing a magical time transport visit to a prior Frank Lloyd Wright era.

Dirty sheets
The smell was horrific when we walked in. The doors were not open to let any air in and might have made a difference. The view is amazing and the wilderness is beautiful however, when I went to check the bed it was full of hair. I take my roller everywhere because I don’t trust the cleaning process. I was very upset. I didn’t even check the other side since at that point I was grossed out. I rented the place for two nights, but stayed one night because of the hair problem. I tried contacting the owner and property manager but did not get a hold of anyone. I left messages saying I had departed. I take many vacations and I take my roller and this was by far the worst amount of hair on a bed. Very disgusting to say the least. The owner left me a nasty message the next morning acting like it was my fault or I’m making things up. They stated they clean the property and take pride, so that explains a lot. They should hire professional cleaners. I visit this area a lot and have stayed at very clean places that don’t have a drop of hair. The owners should ask around for professional maids that do a great job in the area since what they are doing isn’t working. We pay a lot to have a nice clean rental and this truly makes me upset. I came back sore, in pain and angry. This truly makes me think twice about where I’m staying and let me just say never again. My husband wrote in the book and said he loved it, but the hair problem ruined it. He’s not a

Our Happy Place
We’ve stayed at Hi House at least once a year for more than 15 years. What more can I say - it’s a unique place - love waking up surrounded by trees, quiet, and secluded even though the walls are glass. In the heart of Pt Reyes close to so many amazing trails and beaches. Comfy bed and reading chairs. The best.

Lovely place, spoiled
We were so pleased to find such a lovely place and Jeff seemed to be welcoming. In fact, we decided that this would be somewhere we would like to come back to often. There were good clear instructions on what should be done on departing. We followed them precisely, except for inadvertently leaving a few things in the refrigerator, some milk and a couple of boxes of leftovers from dinner out. So it was a real surprise when he wrote that we had left "a mess" and demanded that we pay for the cleanup. He claimed we didn't take out the garbage.. We did. He said we left food on the closet floor. Not true. And the list goes on. It is so painful to be wrongfully accused. We have been staying in rental properties for decades and have always been respectful of the property and thorough about leaving everything in good proper condition, following all instructions. This has never happened before. We are a retired couple who enjoy getting out of the city often and would never, ever do the things he is accusing us of. We wrote a glowing review in the guest book but would now add the caveat that guests should be sure to take photos upon leaving to avoid the nastiness we have experienced.

A lovely retreat in a spectacular setting. Suggestions for improvement: supply shampoo and more soap in bathroom (consider a big bottle of liquid soap) and more essentials in kitchen (salt and pepper supplies were running very low and there was no cooking oil of any kind).

We loved this property, and can’t wait to return! The location is great for exploring Point Reyes, and the views are incredible. The house itself is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities you could need. Very comfortable bed, well supplied kitchen, and the surrounding decks are a nice place to relax and enjoy the scenery. A lovely, quiet retreat in the trees!
