A hectic day of travelling can really wear you out. Catch up on some shut-eye at Mirador de la Portilla and Las Cabañas de la Vera, some of the most central options on offer.

Still struggling to book a place to crash? The Parador De Jarandilla and the Casas Rurales Acebuche might be what you're looking for. The first is 13 kilometres from town, while the latter is 18 kilometres away. If these don't float your boat, we'd recommend you have a look at the Balneario Valle del Jerte, which is 17 kilometres from the downtown area.

Still haven't discovered the perfect room? You might just find a lavish enough thread count in Bejar. You'll also be able to have some adventures at the El Bosque and Maldonado Plaza. The Hotel Colón and Apartamentos Valdesierra I are some of the great apartment and hotel options here. 30 kilometres to the east of Jerte you can also stay at Madrigal de la Vera, which is home to the Hotel Casa Rural Ropino and Chozos de Tejea. While in Madrigal de la Vera, set aside some time to check out the Golf Candeleda and Castro Celta de El Raso.

You'll come across some great visitor attractions in Salamanca. Santa Clara Convent, San Esteban Convent and Las Duenas Convent are up there with the best. This regional centre is located 85 kilometres north of Jerte and has a population of 160,000. Plaza Mayor and New Cathedral of Salamanca are a couple more sights that are sure to offer up some photo ops. There are a number of great hotels where you can score a cosy room for a couple of nights in Salamanca. Have a squiz at the facilities at the Don Gregorio and Hotel Rector.
