The Tongass Treehouse Otter Den studio is a scenic getaway sitting about a hundred feet up in the lush rainforest canopy with the ocean in your front yard. Start your day with coffee while listening to eagles and whale watching from the living room or the deck, then enjoy Juneau's best offerings - like remote glacier hikes or local shopping - all less than 15 minutes away, then return to luxurious comforts to relax at home and watch the sunset as flying squirrels and eagles play next to the deck, and orcas feed just feed from the shore.

This is our home, we rent it out when we do work travel. This is the bottom-floor studio of the Orcaview Cabin and is a completely separate unit with a separate entrance on a separate story. Both units have access to laundry in our utility room through a door outside.

Please note the house is on a steep hillside and requires being comfortable with a few stories of stairs to access the unit (we ask everyone if they're okay with stairs before accepting a booking). We are in the forests of Alaska, so wildlife and occasional bugs are a fact of life.

This is not a dedicated rental (it's our home), we do not have children and our home is not child-proofed, so if you have young children be aware.

We do have cats that live in the studio on rare occasions - our allergen mitigation includes vacuuming daily with a HEPA filtered vacuum, and a Winix C545 HEPA filter. We have had a number of guests with severe cat allergies stay and tell us they had no symptoms, but it is something to be aware of.

Magnificent!
We loved staying in the Otter Den! Clay and Erica have created a very comfortable, clean and beautiful space! The view was absolutely spectacular, the amenities were modern (loved the heated bathroom floor), the kitchen had everything needed for the "foody" in me to prepare meals. The hosts were very responsive to any questions. There is so much to explore within minutes, or just enjoy quiet moments with stunning sunsets and wildlife viewing from the deck! Clay and Erica; Thank you for sharing your beautiful space. We miss being there already!

An Alaska Gem
The Fischer’s have created a warm and comfortable space. I relaxed, read and watched an amazing number of eagles. The view is unparalleled. Bring binoculars, you will see whales.

Relaxing in Juneau
The property is absolutely stunning and meticulously cleaned. The owners communicated throughout our stay with any questions we had. A magical adventure in Alaska
We had a wonderful stay at The Tongass Treehouse. The Otter's Den was clean, cosy, very well equipped and finished to a high standard. The view from the deck was stunning, every sunset was different and sublime. The location was also fantastic, as it was so easy to access the numerous trails and creeks, the Mendenhall Glacier, airport, Mendenhall Mall, Juneau and Auke Bay. During our stay we took a float plane to Chicagof Island to view Brown Bears, saw Black bears closer to base camp, walked in the footprints of bears and wolves and saw Humpback Whales, chatted to squirrels and made some amazing new friends. The Forbidden Peak Brewery and the Alaskan Brewing Company provided pleasant and relaxing interludes to all the adventures. Such a magical experience. We highly recommend South East Alaska and the Tongass Treehouse. Thank you Clay for allowing us to stay at your incredible retreat. :-)
