We stayed at The Premier Mill for 1 night as a way to break up our drive from Bremer Bay to Perth. Upon arrival we were confused about where to check in. We asked at the Dome cafe but the staff there were very busy with lunchtime customers. We found Lyn who was very attentive and even assisted in checking us in a little early. We really appreciated that. The room itself was very stylish. A beautiful bathroom with fabulous Aesop toiletries, a large comfortable bed with fine linens and filtered water. There is a fridge in the room which should be named a wine chiller as it has room for 2 bottles of wine and that's all. There is no coffee in the room but there is a guest valet area on the same floor. It contained bodums, coffee mugs, cream and coffee plus a kettle. There was a boiling water tap which was not operational when we were there. This was not ideal but ok. The only question is why not provide in room bathrobes so we can make coffee without getting fully dressed in the morning? We had a cocktail and pizza in the Cordial Bar. It's a great space and the bar tender, I think his name is Johnathan but not totally sure, was great. He even recommended a lovely walk to see the swans. This boutique hotel has some great points and some were meh. I think a dedicated hotel receptionist and desk should just be standard. I would recommend this hotel but see if you can get a good price. It is expensive
I felt totally ripped off paying $266 for a Boiler Room (Rm 102) in which I could not sleep owing to the noise from the AC units and fans directly adjacent my window. The ‘view’ was limited to the rear service rooves, pipe work and vents.
There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room and the bar fridge was bizarre and fitted only one bottle of water.
The window sill was full of caked dirt and spider
Lovely boutique accommodation. Well appointed, comfortable rooms with great bar and restaurant/cafe. We enjoyed a house made lemonade in the Cordial Bar and the great selection of local wines and spirits. Dinner at the Dome was good quality, hearty food at reasonable prices.
We have stayed at least 5 times and on this occasion we were allocated the worst room we have ever had: #211. It was entirely enclosed with no external windows (windows opened onto passage ways or the stair well and we had to close shutters or feel like being in a goldfish bowl. The was a wood fire in the entrance foyer and while it was burning, we could smellsmoke in our room. The lack of external windows meant we could get no fresh air. Perhaps the bad room we were given was because we booked through Hotels com?
