The hotel is on the main pedestrian street, close to the kremlin and other sights. Parking next door is convenient and cheap. The rooms are OK, a bit small, but have all necessary amenities. The restaurant looks OK, I only tried it for breakfast which was good and plentiful, even if the choice of dishes was a little unexpected. The staff were not particularly forthcoming and even at reception, the English was weak. And the layout was bizarre, multiple levela and half levels which made getting around complicated until you got the hang of it. I did not use the gym but was told that it was OK.
It is not five star by any means, but it is a solid four star and I would go back there again if in Kazan again.
