The colony was ok. This was our second time here and we were excited to be back. Unfortunately the front desk can use a little more courtesy. They charge you for the bicycles to take into town. The first bikes tire was flat. The second one the seat was broken. There were two weddings that weekend which made parking an almost impossibility. The old rustic unplugged flair is cool but just seems like the staff is indifferent towards the paying customers.

Nice place. Breakfast (a truly marvelous buffet) on the veranda was good (short people beware - the tables are tall and the comfy chairs are low). The hotel is in a lovely spot and felt very safe. NOTE: Dog owners, you won’t get a great room with a view. We got a small, austere room tucked in a corner. It met our needs, but for the price it was less than I was expecting. We ate on the veranda and on the patio. Good thing the weather was nice!

This is a very nice historical hotel, but note that it does not have any central air conditioning or any tv's in the room. For me it felt like I was in a retirement home.

This historic property hotel is timeless and we will return. Hopefully we can book our same room again. Would be nice if they returned to breakfast table service like we remember from a previous visit. Likely due to a lack of seasonal labor. They should expand the snack bar menu.
