Spa was good. Restaurant food okay but quite pricey. Car park limited but not stated in the advert. Overall a good hotel and nice staff.

Absolutely loved this place! We got a free upgrade which was wonderful and we felt very spoilt. We had some afternoon drinks from the bar and then had a lovely dinner at the restaurant. We had a lot of space in our room which was so nice and a beautiful big bath, which I took advantage of to soak my aching legs. We had to catch the ferry to Calais, but it was only a 10mins drive down to the port. Easy sailing! Would recommend this place to anyone planning on staying in Dover.

Received an upgrade even though we used Expedia. A Presidential Suite - as excellent as its name especially the view and space. Mr White’s restaurant was good in food but service needed more experience. The bar staff were experienced and very friendly. Really enjoyed their mixed drinks.

It’s an historic hotel - so you expect the odd creaky floorboard! But i found it to be charming & comfortable with very friendly staff and the food was excellent with my (tricky) food allergies catered for. It was lovely to have breakfast looking over to the white cliffs & the English Channel. Only downside was finding there is no ramped access at the front and where there was, at the rear, it was blocked with large trollies of laundry - they were swiftly moved when requested but that was my fire escape route. I hope to stay again.

Staff were nice and obliging. The building is very old with only one tiny elevator to service all floors. Our room was next to a service elevator being used by people renovating another part of the hotel, could clearly hear the elevator instructions (going up, going down, etc) through the wall. Industrial waste bins outside our room were loud when bottles were being emptied into it. Pull out bed for third person was very, VERY small. If you're only staying for a short period and spending little time in the room, this is a serviceable place, but nothing exceptional. I would advise asking for a room away from an elevator.
