Family Holiday
We stayed here for a week with our 3 children, their parners and 4 grand children, making a party of 12. The house was amazing, from a very well equipped kitchen, lovely bedrooms and relaxing seating areas, all beautifully decorated. There was a large garden, (athough the little ones needed supervision as there are two large ponds), and a lovely courtyard seating area. A very well stocked under stairs cupboard with windbreak, chairs, parasol etc for the beach. Also games, and a pool/table tennis table. We were lucky not to need them, but very useful if the weather not good. The area is perfect for a seaside holiday, we were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather, and visited Tor Cross, Bantham, Blackpool Sands and Bigbury.Nearby Dartmouth and Kingsbridge also. Highly recommend, a lovely property and good communication wth owner.

What a wonderful holiday
We had a great time in Oak. Everything Karen said about the property was how it was in reality - the photos dont do it justice. We had a gentle lead up to the holiday with a nice conversation from Karen as to the weather and what to do when in Devon. Always on hand and never intrusive. The property itself was deceptively large especially with the games room. The pool table was a hit. The parking was spacious - certainly when compared to London. The kitchen was well equipped with two fridges and plenty of storage and loads of utensils. The decor was modern, clean, welcoming and comfortable. The gardens were relaxing and we tried the BBQ pits which also worked very well. Karen and team had done a great job to ensure we would have a good time - we did. The beds were dreamily comfortable with ample pillows and light duvets. The proximity to the beaches and other attractions was good - the lanes are, without a doubt, narrow and you have to go slowly and be prepared to back - frequently. Dartmouth was handy for shopping with a super Sainsburys and Lidl + fuel. Thank you.

Idyllic and peaceful
We (a group of 6) had a lovely time here - we especially loved the attention to detail, cleanliness and a genuine sense that our hosts cared about every little thing. For the South Hams, this property was relatively centrally located, with easy access to all the locations and attractions in the area. Thank you so much!

A lovely group get together
A lovely property in a quiet part of the Devon countryside. It is set with a few other properties in a converted barn on the grounds of a larger house. There were 3 families in our group consisting of a baby, children and adults. The house itself was well equipped for all ages. The kids loved the garden as well as the pool/table tennis. There was plenty of space inside to spread out. The host was really helpful and even called to check our needs before we arrived. Beware of the narrow lanes in the area! The house was a 10 minute drive from the coast and there were some lovely walks. We also took trips to Dartmouth and Totnes. All in all, a lovely place to stay! Thank you.

Best cottage for large groups
I stayed here with my family ahead of my wedding and got ready for the big day here too. The bedrooms were much roomier than expected and the kitchen be. Was the perfect size and so weā€™ll set up for cooking for a crowd. The games were perfect and the owners were fab to talk through everything ahead of time and during the stay too when needed. Thank you for the best accommodation for my wedding week!

Lovely spacious house in a quiet rural setting. Had everything we needed for a large family stay and what was a total bonus was being able to take the dogs with us and that they were welcomed by the owner. Such a refreshing change.

Fantastic home away from home
Our family has had one of our most comfortable, enjoyable and pretty holidays here at Oak Cottage. From the get go, Jude was quick to respond, kind and helpful. We cannot recommend Oak Cottage enough, it is absolutely wonderful. A true home away from home, not only does it have everything you could think of and need, but is also laid out, labelled and organised so intuitively and helpfully. From a spare cool box, to a wind breaker, boogey boards, to different wine glass types, to large salad bowls and vases, the provisions are bountiful and yet the place is spacious, uncrowded and decorated with charming relics seemingly from their travels. The beds were perfectly comfortable, clean and you could tell the bedding was like new. Their Covid-19 cleaning policy is very impressive, and as a family with various needs re keeping safe, we felt very safe here. The house is in a charming little compound of other cottages, but it was so quiet and we never felt anything but privacy between the passing nods of hello with our neighbours. The communal gardens were such a treat, large and with incredible views of rolling countryside fields, sheep nearby and they even have their own resident ducks at the pond. And delicious apples falling from the trees! Beautiful Devonshire villages and beaches are a short drive away, but taking a walk along the lanes is also a great way to see the local area and enjoy its charms of horses, chicken boxes, sprawling woodland and rolling fields of chicken, sheep and cows. The bedrooms are also well sized as well as multiple rooms and sections downstairs for lounging in, meaning those who might want to read can sit separate to those who wish to play a boardgame, separate to those watching TV, and those keeping company to those cooking etc. So spacious! This is the kind of holiday place that is very well organised without sacrificing its homeliness and warmth. Highly recommend!

Beautiful area
Large house, well equipped with snooker and table tennis, games etc. Plenty of fridge/freezer space. Large open area a short walk away. Although quite a few properties together itā€™s surprisingly quiet. Thereā€™s a caretaker on site who is most helpful with any problems or questions. The local area and beach cafes at Torcross and Beesands are excellent for coffees etc especially fish and chips!

Remote and idillic
The cottage met all our requirements for a family of 8. There was plenty of space to find some time on your own, or plenty of space to sit altogether. Our family ranges from age 7 to 92 and everyone was happy. There isnā€™t direct access from the property to the communal garden but just a short walk. Bit of a tough walk for the 92 year old to see the views, but we got him up there twice. Had a couple of issues with parking and marked spaces might help with that, but we did get parked. Lots of flies in property but it is in the middle of the countryside and adjacent to a farm. Property is quite dark a bit tired but the space and games room made up for it. Struggled to get parked at local pub so had to give it a miss at last minute. The narrow lanes add quite a bit of time to what could be short journeys but we got used to it in the end. Ventured to Blackpool Sands for an walk on shingly shingle but that was the only beach we went to. Dartmouth was lovely, Rockfish in Brixham lovely food and successful Mackerel fishing trip, Twenty Seven in Kingsbridge was delicious and the farm shop near Torcross was a life saver!!

Lovely holiday accommodation for all ages
Buckland Court ā€œOaksā€ is a Lovely and spacious holiday place - our family gathering of 6 adults and 3 toddlers under 3 (plus dog) found it very comfortable and well equipped with everything to make our stay very enjoyable. The shared gardens were a joy to explore and the idyllic location surrounded by rolling fields and woodlands gave us that holiday feeling from the first day. Beaches are only a short drive away: wide sweeps of fine pebble or sandy coves, according to preference. Dartmouth with its amenities is only a 15 minute drive - a great location.

Lovely, well equipped holiday home with access to beautiful, spacious garden.
Communication with owner Jude was brilliant and caretaker Simon sorted any small issues after we had booked in quickly with a very friendly manner. The home is spacious and very well equipped. The gardens were fantastic our young children loved seeing the ducks and the play house. It is a great location to get to many attractions. The only reason I have marked location 4 rather than 5 stars is because we had 4 young children in our party and we had to travel further afield to a beach with sand good for digging and building sand castles (the local ones are shingle/sand). I would recommend this holiday home, we had a fab stay there.

Weekend break
We were 3 families coming to stay at oak cottage and we found the layout of the property ideal. Also there was plenty of living space for us all....with a good size fully equipped kitchen and a laid large dining table. The children loved having the PlayStation , the pool table to play with also and the outdoor area. The bbq came in handy as we had amazing weather. The location was quiet but close to many villages and Slapton, with beautiful beaches in close proximity. We will definitely be back again!
