Good base for exploring the area. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and the room was simple but nicely appointed. Seemed very expensive for the size of the room and the facilities available.

We ended up staying at Hotel Laki twice during our third trip to Iceland. Once on the way out to Egilsstaðir, and a few nights later on the way back to Selfoss. The hotel included free breakfast which was fantastic. There’s also a cozy bar attached to the restaurant. Dinner was good, three lamb chops, carrots and potatoes for $53 US. Typical Icelandic, pricey but delicious. We took a walk down to the lake to enjoy some nature. Very peaceful. We enjoyed staying in this family owned hotel. It was nice to see the family and staff having breakfast together before starting the work day.

Great Bfest
Very nice place. We did not have a lot of time to see the area around the hotel. The breakfast was amazing!!!!!! Full display of breads, meats, spreads, fruits, cheeses. It was great! Great beds. Only thing was bad was there was no hot water f showering

Went with my family of 4- husband and two teen daughters. We had a lovely stay here. Clean, comfortable rooms and had a great view of the mountains. The included breakfast had a good selection. Plenty to explore in the area and also convenient to Vik. Definitely stop at the nearby unique visitor center building with the grass roof for tips on where to go and eat.

I was a little concerned going into this property because of mixed reviews but was pleasantly surprised! The rooms were clean and the bathroom was great! We got the economy room just to spend the night and it worked well. I will note that the rooms in the economy area have thinner walls and sound travelled quite easily. However, was very pleasant for one night!

The property looks beautiful and appears to be quite new. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the laundry service and the clothes are clean and folded for us in the morning. The breakfast is included and has a wide variety of options, served in the bright and large restaurant. We were disappointed in the restaurant dinner options. There’s were extremely limited vegetarian options (only one entree) and we we ordered it, were told it wasn’t available. The suggestion was to have a salad. As the prices were already high, the idea of settling for a 30,000ISK salad as a consolation prize was untenable. We had to drive back into the nearest town for supper. The server was very kind and apologetic (obviously not their fault) about the whole ordeal. The rating reflects the reality that it is unreasonable not to have robust non-meat options on the menu.
