What a great place! Stayed only one night but wish we stayed longer. Nice sauna, lake, and surrounding areas. Accommodations were excellent, dinner was great! We had an early flight so missed breakfast. Hope to be back!
This is the best hotel we've ever stayed at. Nothing was too much for the staff, everyone was incredibly attentive and helpful. The hotel itself is a beautiful building and our room was amazing, very high ceilings with Murano chandliers and made for a very special experience. There was a wide selection of food at breakfast and it was nice to sit near the windows and watch boat traffic pass by. The location is perfect for exploring Venice only a short walk from St. Mark's square which is wonderful to enjoy early in the morning. We would certainly stay again and recommend this hotel without hesitation.
Beautiful place, beautiful surroundings. We only stayed over and had dinner - did not take part in SPA -package. Dinner was a disappointment. Looked good on paper but did not live up to descriptions and expectations at all. Way to pricey for what was actually delivered.
The main house has a nice big outdoor seating, cute dining rooms for dinner. Upstairs they have a bar and a beautiful antique interior with great view over the estate and lake. There were two available bridges to swim from and a sauna next by one of them. Boule and padel are available. I loved the tranquility and calmness of the area which helped me relax and rest.
The food was okay.
This was a great stay for a birthday celebration. Close by were nice skitracks. The excellent weather lifted the experience. Food was great. Only weird minor downside was the bed that felt like a waterbed.
Ella and Helena were great but this hotel is worse than second rate . So many things were not right from the quality of the food , to the drains smelling in the room and items not working . It is just very old and tired and needs a bright refurbishing so it doesn’t feel like a nursing home . I would never go back .
The reason I have given slightly lower grades than I would have usually given for a hotel like this is because our main criteria for booking this hotel was that in the description it stated there were tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. This may seem a small point, however we knew we were coming to the hotel after a long day at the hospital and having facilities to make a warm drink in our hotel room was a priority. As it was we arrived at the hotel at 8.30pm in heavy sleet, got soaking wet checking in in the check-in building, and then had to drive the car to the building where our room was located, getting even more wet, to arrive in our room to find they had two little bottles of room temperature mineral water and no coffee making facilities. Room service was available but not for hot drinks.
Beyond that, the room was not like any of the lovely ones in the main photos but it was cozy. The bed was really comfortable and we did get a good night's sleep. We couldn't be bothered to go to the restaurant building for breakfast so I can't comment on that, instead we went to the reception building to check-out. As you can see, there are a lot of buildings that you need to get around which may be great most of the year but in the Swedish winter is not so attractive! The free hotel WIFI was good.
stayed two nights. nice and quiet, a good break from the bustle of the preceding nights in stockholm. you need a rental car as this is a rural location.
the manor house was under renovation, but having access to the grounds alone was great. the descriptions don't place enough emphasis on the historical significance of this estate. guest lodgings are in buildings outside the manor house.
overall, an exceptional value given the environment and history of this hotel.
Stayed here for one night in late May. This is clearly a conference hotel and I believe very few guests are holiday makers. The grounds are beautiful, our room was comfy and staff nice. A few things could have been better for us though ( me and DH). There were no blackout curtains in the room so sleeping in the lightness of early summer night was somewhat difficult. We also missed a coffee maker in the room. There was a restaurant, but it also served a set menu and you were stuffed if you didn't like what they offered for the day. Not entirely sure if I would recommend this place for others than conference guests.
