This is an interesting place to review.
On the good side, the beach is the best. Soft white sand, deep beach that’s great for walking and running, flat slow entrance into clear turquoise water. It is so swimmable and even great for little kids because it stays shallow for 50 m or more when you walk out. Also on the good side is that there are so many beach restaurants and bars (and a few minimarts) along the beach that you never have to leave the resort or beach. The evenings are just stunning as you walk along trying to select a restaurant. This was, hands down, our favourite beach in Thailand.
On the not so good side. When we checked in, our room was very small and in need of repairs (min suite). We made the decision to upgrade to the family suite and it was well worth it. Get one of the three in front of the beach pool (there’s a second pool near the back of the resort). There’s no shade on the beach, but there is shade just in front of it before the pool. You need to book a lounger easy in the morning or you’ll be in the sun. The breakfast was seriously lacking (white bread only, a few Asian options, but only eggs if you want western). They do have fresh fruit, juices, tea, coffee, croissants.
If we came back to Thailand we’ll return to Klong Dao beach but probably try a different resort on the beach.
