I booked a "Double Room, Lakeside" that was described as having a balcony with lake views. We were shown to a room in basement that walked out to a small patio that looked at a hedge and what may have been a private dining area. We could, technically, glimpse the lake from the patio. If I had known there was even a REMOTE possibility that we'd have a room in a basement, I NEVER would have booked this hotel.
Oh, and if that wasn't enough, I couldn't spend more than 3 minutes in the bathroom without stuffing up. Given that there weren't a lot of grass & trees in the bathroom, there must have been mould or something in there to cause the allergic reaction. It smelled incredibly musty, too.
Also, we could only get a signal for the WiFi in one half of our room. And of the three codes we were given to access WiFi, only two worked.
