If annoying work convos are doing your head in, it might be time to dig out your passport and step off the beaten track for a while. Book accommodation in Kong-mal and you'll be in an awesome spot to see the envy-inducing beaches and coastal plains of South Korea!

It's situated 120 kilometres south of Seoul, South Korea's capital city.

Break free on a trip to some nearby natural sights. 45 kilometres out of Kong-mal, Songni-san National Park is just waiting to be explored. Gyeryongsan National Park, 17 kilometres away, is another excellent spot to relax in the outdoors.

There's nothing more exciting than the atmosphere of a live soccer game! Watch the Daejeon Citizen FC bid for glory on their home ground at Daejeon World Cup Stadium, an impressive arena 15 kilometres away in Daejeon.

Once you've picked up a pass and trail map at Jisan Forest Ski Resort, you won't want to waste a moment getting to the summit! You might also like to jump aboard the chairlift and spend time on the slopes at Ski World at Konjiam Resort.

Remember to visit other nearby attractions, such as the Magoksa and King Muryeong's Tomb. You'll come across them 20 kilometres west in Gongju. Don't want to head back to your hotel just yet? The Chungbuk National University and the Heungdeok Temple Site are in Cheongju, 20 kilometres to the northeast of Kong-mal.

Whether it's for shopping or to see the sights, visitors often make their way over to Jeonju, 75 kilometres to the south. The Gyeonggijeon, the Jeonju Historical Museum and the Jeonju National Museum are all within a stone's throw. That said, make sure you don't pass up the Pungnammun Gate and Jeondong Catholic Church either.

When it's time to release the adventurer within, sign yourself up for some tobogganing. That said, there aren't many better ways to experience the local region than with a bit of rock climbing.

If you'll be travelling via air, you'll most likely be using Cheongju International Airport (CJJ). It's 30 kilometres to the northeast. Pack your bags, find the best route and set your alarm clock!
