The experience was what we expected. Very Japanese, quiet with beautiful gardens. They changed our booking from a room for 6 to three rooms for 2 each and had a nice garden view. The dinner was surprisingly very good with all vegetable dishes but quite diverse texture and taste. We enjoyed our stay.
Very welcoming to our 8yo twins! Lovely meal and it was special to be a part of the morning service (7am!) Kids were able to participate in the incense burning and prayer.
What an amazing experience. Should have stayed for more days. Staff super helpful. The ceremony we attended was graceful. Experience of 7 course meal was worth spending time
Very special place to stay. Morning prayer session is not to be missed. They have good air conditioning in the room we stayed in which was necessary due to the heat. Everything closes early in town and dinner is at 5pm.
The hotel is nice enough for the location, really enjoyed the Onsen. The location is close to center of town and attractions. We found the food to be much below expectations. We are used to vegetarian food so that wasn’t the issue, it was just very unappetizing. So don’t go here for the food but the accommodations are fine.
Good experience staying with monks in their ryokan with thre morning service. Nice environment, close to main temple area and comfortable rooms. Food was nice, were not vegetarians and westerners so didn't eat everything provided, but they give plenty of food. The staff were very helpful and obliging
We had stayed at another place up the road and had phenomenal service and food. While we were really looking forward to Saizenin, it fell short of expectations - especially in comparison to the other place. The staff was very transactional and almost dismissive. Wasn’t as warm and welcoming as we were hoping for. Overall, facilities were modern and in good condition though.
We had a wonderful room that included separate sleeping ( futons on floor) a sitting room and our own private toilet. We had ordered dinner which was delivered to our room. We did go to the 6:30 a.m. ceremony followed by breakfast. It was a delightful experience. The location was good and there was close parking. A great town to wander in!

Eaperienza in totale pace e tranquillità decisamente meditativa. 🔝
