Great value for the price!
We took a gamble on this hotel as the overall rating of the hotel wasn't great but the bad reviews seemed to be from people picking at things. The hostel was clean and the service was good with a reasonably priced airport transfer too. The breakfast included was also very tasty. The main reason for the high rating is that I feel that the hostel has outdone itself for the cost of the stay. Very good value for the price!

Excellent!!v Very clean and comfortable hotel close to old Town Krakow. Very nice and helpful staff in reception. Breakfast was delicious and next door restaurant have great food too!! I definitely stay here again!!!

First hostel experience & loved it (solo traveler)
This was the first time I'd ever stayed in a hostel and was very pleasant surprised. My room was cute, with a loft sleeping area and a queen bed. Towels and bedding provided but not things like hairdryers. It's in a historical area and I liked the small balcony overlooking the neighbors. Walking distance to Wawel Castle and Old Town Square. Grocery/liquor store down the street and international bank machine ATM in several locations nearby. Great little bakery up the street. In the evening, I sat in the lounge and had a drink. In the morning, I had a light breakfast and the best coffee I'd had during my visit in Poland (I'm from Canada and it's similar to our coffee). The ages of the guests were varied from young adults to retirees. Felt safe and comfortable there, which was important to me as a solo female traveler.

Great stay, central location
We had a great stay at Kadetus for 4 days/nights. We had a private room with our own bathroom. There was a common kitchen just outside our room, with a fridge and various utensils, very convenient. Free WiFi in the room worked well. There is a pub in the same building adjacent to the hostel, where they offer free breakfast. The breakfast is simple but very good: corn flakes, milk; slices of bread, ham, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers; cream cheese, jam, tea, coffee. We also got free coupons for some coffee/tea options in the same pub for the afternoon. The location is quiet but very central, 10 min walk to the Main Market Square, 10-15 min walk to the Wawel Castle hill. There is a mini-market open 24 hours just 100 meters away, and a bigger supermarket another 100 m or so in the same direction. The hostel offers drop-off laundry services. The hostel staff are very helpful. Overall: no complaints whatsoever, would gladly stay there again.

Good place to stay on a budget
Decent sized room. We got a private double and got a 5 person room all to our selves. The breakfast was ok in the mornings. Toast, cereal, meats and cheeses and coffee and water. We were able to book tours to Auschwitzs and the salt mines right at reception. The cons: the shared bathrooms were not clean and generally busy. About a 10 minute walk to the the main square and restaurants. 20 minute walk to the castle. Over all it was a good place for the money, if you don't mind walking a little to get to the sites.

Nice hostel close to old town.
I enjoyed our stay at The Kadetus Hostel, there was some staff that was absolutely amazing and lovely and one or two that were not as good, maybe it could have been my accent and therefore it was harder to engage. Or room was cozy, radiator always on so we was warm. Breakfast was good also.

the only furnishings in my room was: a bunk bed (double below, single above) , 2 single beds, a 6ft cupboard and a small coffee table.Although it has to be said the bed was comfortable and the room was clean, breakfast was complimentary and adequate and the young lady serving breakfast was absolutely first class.

Stayed here 2 nights and overall a good place with a iOS location. The beds were a bit rough as it only had a very thin cushioned pad but really no other issues. Front desk and bar staff were friendly and helped with whatever we needed. They offer a nice free breakfast in the bar area and make an awesome panini for lunch/dinner.

I had a very good time there. The hostel is very well located, close to everything and the room was clean. We had some problems with the fan that was not working but they quickly change it for another one. In fact service was superb, they were very kind.

Nice hostel close to the castle in Krakow
I booked a single room with bathroom, wifi, tv and continental breakfast for £10 per night. The room I got was nice, it had more beds than reqiured and a balcony. The wifi was not working all the time and the tv has only had about 5 channels. The breakfast was stardard I guess the selection would have been fine for most of people but there was nothing to choose for a vegetarian or a vegan apart from tea or coffee. The location of the hostel was perfect for customers who waht to easily get to the most famous parts of the city centre as it is about 5-10 minutes walk from the Wawel Castle and about the same distance from the main market in the centre.

Close enough to perfect
At check in I was shown the room reserved, but the gentleman suggested I might like another and showed me. The first was great but the second suited me much better. Off to a good start. I stayed for four nights and would have enjoyed staying for longer. Staff, all young, all friendly and helpful with arranging tours etc. Breakfast cold selections of meats cheeses and the usual cereals etc., inlc in price, which is the lowest in my three months of travel (except Madrid). Hostel is decorated wonderfully and I enjoyed the creaking floors as the are gorgeous. Never a problem with getting into the shared facilites and the shower area is large enough. Short 5 min walk to the old town centre full of cafes and restraunts on the market square, but look down the arcades for some quirky fun places. Close enough to perfect for me.

Brilliant location and easy to find. The staff nice and helpful but was not easy communicate with us (we're Deaf) anyway... The room is very smelly and dust too. Not fresh mattress. Breakfast was not bad, but a lots of damaged cups and plates (try to buy a new from IKEA shop) and simple food, where's fruits and yogurts?! Hostel looked different from pictures in website.

Helpful staff and great location!
We stayed in a double room for 7 nights. The location is very convenient and staff are the best! The room is quite cheap and considering the price it was a really good choice. Facilities very sufficient and staff really helpful! The only thing I did not like was the noise from the street (trams, cars) but it can be easily avoided by booking a room that has windows towards the back of the house.

Overall my stay at Kadetus was good except that it was summer and it did not have air-conditioned rooms. A mini fan should be a great help if provided during summer. However everything else was good and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful..loved the map provided by the hotel :)

Good hostel. We would stay again.
It is nice that the front desk is open 24 hours, as we got there very late and had to leave very early. A pipe in our double bedroom broke, so they gave us a bunk bed room and some money back. Not as good, but a place to sleep. Staff was friendly as it was her second day on the job.

Good quality Hostel for Krakow on a budget
As Hostels go this is a good one. Affordable, Good location, Free fast WiFi, cheap beer and snacks. The only comment to make is that the front facing rooms do get very light early in the morning. The shutters and curtain are very thin. Take a travel mask if you don't want to wake up at 4am :)

One of the better hostels I've stayed in
Myself and 2 friends went for a weekend break in Karkow. One of the girls in our party had never been in a hostel, and, was really not keen to go at all. I was exceptionally happy that it turned out to be such a nice one as I do think I would never have gotten her to go to one ever again if it hadn't been. The outside of the building, signage and indeed the website were not great, and I was a little nervous at first when we arrived - but the inside and the room was great! the bedding of the room was not great quality, most noticeably there was a rip in one of the sheets - but it was clean and comfortable and met all of our requirements.

location is ideal. the hostel is close walking distance to old town and wawel castle. room was clean. had a double bed and single bed , and a loft that had two twin beds. absolutely fine for a short stay in krakow. receptionists spoke english and were helpful. no complaints.

Hostel and better than some hotels
Great hostel with hotel quality rooms plus a very easy going, safe and secure atmosphere. I had a lovely twin room No.3 with en-suite bathroom. Everything you will need is here for a short stay. The free coffee was essential after a party night in Krakow - Excellent deal! Location is perfect with a 5 minute walk to Wawel castle and 10 minutes to town centre. There is a cafe next door and a 24 hour alcohol and sweets shop 5 metres - Perfect!

Needs updating
Staff is polite and friendly -- they wanted to help even when there was nothing they could do. Photos do not represent what we saw in our room. Pictures are not of shared bathrooms. Heating did not work, except for one day which happened to be the same day that there was no hot water. Hardwood floors in hallways and rooms were extremely creaky and loud. Room door would not close snugly such that it would rattle loudly whenever someone else shut their door or even just walked by our room. Breakfast is very basic yet fairly good. Wi-fi was a bit inconsistant in our room. Security cameras for refrigerators do not help identify food thiefs.
