Great location to enjoy a quiet neighborhood with local coffee and shopping but only a ten minute walk to nearest train station. Rooms are spacious and staff was very kind and helpful, would recommend this property to anyone travelling to the area.

The room design was excellent and the best we stayed in during our trip to Japan. The room was very user-friendly and comfortable. The hotel is in a lovely neighborhood that is less busy than the area near the train station.

Lovely retreat in Kyoto!
We loved this location and everything about the hotel. The service and welcome were exceptional! The rooms were large and very inviting with all amenities needed and then some. It was such a lovely room to relax in at the end of long walking/exploration days in beautiful Kyoto. I could not recommend this more highly especially for the cost! I would definitely return here again.

Convenient to Nijo Castle and the Imperial Palace but not many dining options within walking distance. Clean, modern and very quiet. Wonderful bathroom.

Almost everything about this hotel is perfect. The room was very clean and the staff are just the best! I especially liked the bathroom, which we had the standing shower and tub. The water pressure is strong and I feel like I get a little massage from it. My only complaint of the hotel is the location. It is 11 minutes away from the nearest subway station and walking in the summer heat was too much. The nearest bus stop is 3 minutes away so that helped. Dining options are not as great as it is in an area that is more residential. Although the very best sushi restaurant we ever had is just across the hotel. I think if this hotel was located in a more popular area the daily rate would have been much higher. So we paid mid price for a luxury hotel. They don’t have laundromat on site but provide laundry service. There was a coin laundromat on the street behind the hotel so it was not too bad to walk over to do our laundry. Would we choose this place again? If in cooler weather we would definitely stay here again as walking for 11 minutes is not bad if it is not too hot. And if you like a quiet area, then this hotel is perfect.

My stay at KAYA Kyoto Nijo Castle was truly delightful for me and my wife. The hotel was exceptionally quiet and clean, providing a peaceful and comfortable environment. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any needs or questions. Additionally, the location was excellent, making it easy to explore the beautiful city of Kyoto. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area.
