Lovely upscale property with very comfortable bed in a quiet room with attention to asthetics. Close enough to walk to Gion District. Nice amenities in the room from the coffee and tea to bath products. Buzzing with activity in the lobby with an onsite bakery. Rooftop bar is not to be missed.

The hotel is very nice, modern and aesthetically pleasing. It has an excellent location, just a few minutes walk from tourist attractions. The coffee shop in the lobby has one of the best coffees I had in Japan. The only negative point was the staff at the rooftop bar. They were conceited, pedantic and very unfriendly. They do not reflect Japanese culture and friendliness.

One of the best hotel experiences we had in Japan. So friendly checking in and very helpful. It was organised, calm and so efficient. The area we weee staying was quiet and not too much of a walk from Pontocho alley. Our room was spotless, modern and so comfortable. We would love to come back!

The hotel is modern/high-end/hipster with a great location. The staff will go above and beyond. We would stay here again. The restaurant and roof top bar are 5 stars. The quality of the food and beverages and service is incredible. We had breakfast 3 days, dinner once in the restaurant, late night snacks (burger and tacos) & cocktails once at the bar. The food is high end and felt like whole food. An example, there are freshly roasted veggies and freshly made bread (including gluten free) at breakfast. It was much higher end than any other breakfast that we had on our 13 day trip, though fewer options. We stayed on the 6th floor in a king suite. The view from the room was stunning, overlooking the hills and Kiyomizudera pagoda. The room was really large with separate rooms for the sink/shower from the toilet, which was great for us. Word of caution: The hotel is the noisy. The traffic noise is loud. We ended up using the room's bluetooth speaker and a white noise playlist from spotify to sleep. The staff gave us a few other room options (again, they went above and beyond), but we stayed with our original room. Neither the bathroom or HVAC fan were loud enough to cover up traffic noise. And, there was no way to keep the HVAC fan on and it was too quiet anyways. The lobby always had loud music (sometimes really great live music, but most times recorded), making it harder to hear and communicate with the front desk staff.

Amazing stay here. The staff were friendly, rooms were huge and extremely clean, cafe was yummy and the rooftop restaurant was delicious. They had bikes to rent for the day which was super helpful to get around as the location was a little bit far from the main area but it was only about a 20 min walk. I would come back here again!

A beautiful hotel with a great rooftop bar and morning coffee area. A 15 minute walk to the Gion area. If going to use the subway it is a 20 minute walk or a 3 minute walk to a bus. We found taxis and walking was the best way to get around. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
