I had a tough time deciding between giving this hotel 4 or 5 stars. I enjoyed my stay, but ultimately, I settled on a lower rating because of the hotel's popularity on social media and the unpleasant experience caused by other guests, particularly in the onsen.
The staff seemed overwhelmed by the number of guests. We paid for daily housekeeping, but when we first checked in, there was an odor coming from the toilet. I assumed it was sewage, as the toilet in the onsen facilities had a similar smell. Even after housekeeping came to freshen up our room, the toilet still had the same odor. However, by the third night, the odor was gone. I gave a cleanliness rating of 3 stars because the room was only clean on the surface; the windows and door surfaces were really dusty, which could be problematic for those with dust allergies.
I really appreciated the extra services such as the massage chairs, free ramen for supper, and complimentary beverages throughout the day.
The staff were excellent; they were very quick to respond whenever I had an issue or query. When my mom had trouble with the Wi-Fi in the room, they promptly sent a technician to resolve the problem.
There are many excellent dining options near the hotel if you're too tired to explore elsewhere. Be sure to make a reservation or arrive before the lunch/dinner rush to avoid long waits.
