Nice place BUT...
After paying for the room On Expedia the hotel charged Me a second time on my credit card. I pointed out that I had already paid online and they said this was normal Procedure. Now I am trying to get Expedia or the hotel to reverse a payment that should never have been processed. Things like this diminish the experience greatly.

Very nice place to stay in La Serena
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I had just needed somewhere to stay the night while I was in La Serena, and I saw this hotel was able to check me in at a late hour. But I liked it there so much I changed my plans and stayed an extra night. I liked the rooms (they were comfortable and I liked the balcony area), and I liked the view walking around the hallways. The staff was great (very friendly, and made sure everything was just right). The breakfast was amazing. And the location of the hotel was good too-- close to the famous faro, and basically right on the "main strip" where the beach is and where there's a fun nightlife with food trucks. Definitely recommend.

Hotel Playa Companario in La Serena
Overall great. I was in La Serena for work and I decided to add some sight seeing/shopping days. The Hotel was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are large and clean.

Odd smelling rooms
Our only issue with this hotel was with the odor in the rooms. The first room we had smelled so bad, we had to ask to change rooms. The people working at this hotel were extremely friendly and accommodating and we were upgraded to a better room that smelled better, though it too had a funny odor. We're not sure whether it's because of previous guests smoking when smoking wasn't allowed or why exactly. Aside from that, and the fact they only served Nescafe at breakfast(!), we were satisfied with the hotel.

La habitación estaba bien, pero hacía muchísimo frío. En la recepción no estaban siempre atentos y estuvimos afuera esperando que nos abrieran una noche más de 10 minutos - ni llamando por teléfono nos contestaron. Fuera de eso el servicio muy atento. La habitación limpia. Las toallas un poco viejas. La ubicación del hotel esta muy bien.

Olor a pintura horrible
La limpieza de hotel no era de los mejor, estaba con olor a recién pintada y los interruptores sucios, se veían algunos parches en el baño...y para colmo arriba de tina había una araña. la calidad del servicio...en general bien, yo me equivoque en la reserva y ellos la corrigieron sin inconvenientes...el check out es a las 12:00hrs...y te tienen a alguien haciendo guardia para poder entrar a tu dormitorio el desayuno correcto y la ubicación también.

Hotel em La Serena
O hotel é bom. Tem boa infraestrutura. Nós tivemos alguns problemas relacionados a manutenção (falta de água e falta de água quente). Isso fez com que só pudéssemos tomar banho após umas 5h após a entrada no hotel. Tivemos a impressão de que faltava uma gerência. No mais, a localização é OK e os quartos são confortáveis.
