Wonderful cottage and ever-changing outlook!
All had a great time, but sadly could not get the fire to work without setting off the smoke alarms! The thermostat failed but this was attended to very rapidly indeed - this was most appreciated - a terrific host and support service.

Perfect little cottage in a great location
Just right for our short family holiday - very well presented, cosy but with plenty of space. Great to have single bedrooms for the kids and two bathrooms. Lovely and warm inside. Amazing views and great location for exploring the area.

Highly recommended
A cosy, comfortable cottage with stunning views in all directions. The scenery almost seems to change every time you look out of the window, because it looks different depending on the tides and weather conditions. We had mixed weather over the course of the week - a couple of days were complete washouts and a couple were gloriously warm and sunny. The only thing I would say is that you might be a bit stuck if you had a week that was wall-to-wall rain, because almost all the things to do are outdoors, but if you get completely stuck I gather there's a nice museum in Bettyhill, about an hour's drive away.

Take time on the NC500 and stop and stay in one of the most beautiful places in the UK
The cottage was perfect. We rented the big house a couple of years ago - a magnificent experience. I have stayed at the old Cape Wrath Hotel and Mr. Watson and team did a great job. The new house is on another level. My recommendation to all visitors to Scotland - enjoy the route maps - but take time out to stay in a local community for a week or so and get engaged. Stay at a place like this - the cottage has everything and the local area is unique. Pictish archeology, the best geology in the world (perhaps), walks and mountains, fishing, etc. we will be back! Many thanks!

one week of extreme summer weather 2024
Another excellent week at Kyleview Cottage, arriving in 4 degs and having a week's high of 11 degs. What a contrast from last year with temps 20-26 degs and endless sunshine. Nonethelss we had plenty to keep us busy and found the cottage very comfortable.

Lovely little cottage for small family or a couple. Very warm and well equipped. Large enclosed garden for dogs (sheep in next door field). Good communication with hosts. Great location just outside of Durness; good walks from the door and many beautiful beaches to visit in the area.

A 30 year promise fulfilled!! After travelling North for work the Kyle of Durness at low tide appeared round the corner and was stunning! I promised my wife we must return albeit a few years later than planned!! Different beach every day some deserted, our cocker spaniel was in heaven. Sandwood Bay, Farr Bay (was meant to be Torrisdale, SatNav error!), Oldshoremore, Ceannabeinne Beach, Balnakeil Beach all stunning . Did not find the Secret Beach so will need to return! Kyleview was a perfect base to explore the area

Bliss
My partner and I booked this cottage to celebrate our 40ths. We had spent a day in Durness in Summer and really fell in love with the area so wanted to come back and explore it a bit more. There was absolutely nothing negative about the cottage, nor it's location. Cosy, clean and very comfortable. The fire would be perfect for cold dark nights after a walk and a swim! The kitchen is amazing, with everything you could need while away and the view over The Kyle of Durness out the front windows is simply awesome, you could watch it for your entire stay - it looks different every time you see it. Location is amazing, if you enjoy a walk you are well within walking distance of Balnakiel, Sango and Smoo cave - the walk back through the fields passing the loch from Balnakiel has to be one of our favourites. Could write for hours about how much we enjoyed our stay here and can't recommend enough. Gillie was so helpful through the booking process as well. All in all a perfect experience.

Loved it.
Great cottage with plenty parking space and a clean, modern interior. Well equipped kitchen and decent water pressure so the showers were excellent, not the usual north of Scotland dribble. Five minute drive to a well stocked Spar shop in Durness and a three minute walk to the Cape Wrath ferry. Beautiful view of the Kyle of Durness from the living room, double bedroom and front garden. Loved it.

Two June weeks in Kyleview Cottage
We had a wonderful two weeks at Kyleview cottage. The view up the Kyle and the ever changing tides and skies are wonderful. For ornithologists, walkers, explorers or fisherman there is an endless menu of activities and opportunities. The cottage is modern, clean and perfect for 2 to 4 people and no need to share a bathroom with your friends - there are two !! Highly recommended.
