Mead Chapel is beautifully set amidst the picture-perfect Somerset village of Drayton, with an excellent village pub restaurant just a few minutes walk!

Radiating a timeless charm, the sleepy village of Drayton has streets lined with a mix of period cottages and impressive larger houses and also a charming a 15th century church. Not only is there a friendly pub restaurant walking distance, but the nearby villages of Curry Rivel and Langport are just a short drive away and offer a great choice of independent shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants, as well as riverside activities along the river Parrett.
There are beautiful nature-walks starting right from the doorstep Of Mead Chapel, offering plenty of scope to explore the Somerset levels and nearby Dorset.
Entering the chapel through the original double chapel doors, there’s stone floor hallway with space for coats and muddy boots etc. Through the next set of double doors the ground floor opens out into a stylish, vaulted sitting room with comfy sofa and a dining area. The solid oak floor then leads on to a well equipped kitchen and modern shower room with large walk in shower. In the lounge you can snuggle on the comfy sofa with your morning coffee or a glass of wine; there’s also a smart TV to keep you nicely entertained, a Bluetooth speaker to select your favourite soundtrack, along with a selection of books to browse.
When it’s finally time for bed, simply head up the stairs to the carpeted mezzanine bedroom. Furnished with a kingsize bed dressed in designer cotton linens, you’re all but guaranteed a sound night’s slumber. On this floor there’s also a chest of drawers and a second TV. For guests needing hanging space, there is a rail and hangers for this in the cupboard next to the dining area on the ground floor.
The modern kitchen is equipped with electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge and Nespresso coffee machine.
To the front of the Chapel there’s a picnic table for enjoying your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. There’s a small area of lawn either side of the Chapel with 2 oak chairs for relaxing.
Parking.
Although guests are unable to park directly in front of the chapel entrance, there’s generally a parking space opposite or anywhere along School street or in the village Main Street. All free of course!
PETS.
Please note that 1 small - medium well behaved dog is welcome to join you during your stay at Mead Chapel. Guests are requested to keep their pet off of the furniture and on the ground floor of the cottage, thank you for your cooperation.
Please note that the garden area is not fenced.
A very warm welcome awaits our lovely guests! And to make your stay extra special we always leave some fresh goodies - croissants, milk, tea, coffee, coffee pods, biscuits and of course a bottle of wine. We also leave a few rolls of loo paper, washing up liquid, bin liners, kitchen paper and foil etc. as a starter pack.
Unfortunately the Chapel is not suitable for children or babies.
