Wanda Lanzhou is an excellent hotel, likely the best in town from the reviews I have read. Stayed 4 nights in June 2017. Very clean and new hotel. Enjoyed the breakfast which has very good choices like the usual western cereal and baked goods but also a large selection of hot Chinese foods including steamed dim sum, steamed buns, steamed shumai among others. I particularly appreciated the Lanzhou beef noodles served in a stand alone station. The famous Lanzhou La Mian. We also had a meeting room booked which was very good and the service excellent with waters, coffee, fruits, etc served throughout the day. The room itself is modern and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and I liked the bathtub particularly which had a glass to the bedroom a very nice feature that I like. The concierge and staff were also extremely devoted. I asked them for a lot of information and help getting cabs and for them to write in Chinese certain directions I could take and show people. Very few people in Lanzhou will speak English so the front desk at the hotel are really a valuable resource that is there for the traveler to use. The location of the hotel is right on the main avenue of Lanzhou, and the mall that is part of the same complex has many restaurants, a supermarket, and stores. The supermarket in particular is very convenient and well stocked. The airport is very far from town, some 70 kilometers north. A cab should be 200 renminbi or less. Cabs in Lanzhou refuse to use me
