LQC has a great website promising multilingual staff, but that's only on weekends, or perhaps in high season. We were the only guests and struggled to communicate. You really need Spanish to travel in Ecuador. The girls did well at trying to please us, and this review is not a criticism of them. Also, the drivers/guides for our daytrips to hiking areas were very good and the price was acceptable. But 3 days at LQC cost us $696. We must bear partial responsibility for not asking the price of various items as we consumed them, but without your own car out there you are a captive customer- there is nowhere else nearby to eat or drink comfortably. I understand that all must be brought in from outside, but it's only a few Km. to the Panamericana. $45 for a $10 bottle of cab. $16 for a little airline size. $8 for a mixed drink and charged extra for the mixer! The food is good and fresh, but very limited in variety and ridiculously over priced. The hotel itself is well-kept and pleasant and the views of Cotopaxi are spectacular, but I can't recommend it.
