The place was fine for a hostel - but that is what it was, a hostel. Web has place listed for 37 Euros and Expedia charged $138. My complaint about this has gone unanswered for a week.

This hostel is in an ideal location. It is on a gorgeous little square with a fountain. (The photo is accurate!) It's steps away from an alley packed with popular cafes and restaurants. It's also a very short walk to J.S. Bach's church, St. Thomas. Perfection! A few things to note: (1) The interior is a series of hallways that make almost no sense and lead to a disjointed feeling of the place. It's impossible to get your bearings when inside. (2) Our room had plenty of space, it was clean, and the beds were fine. (3) Unfortunately, we needed to open the window to cool down the room and cigarette smoke wafted in from the courtyard below at all hours of the day and night. (4) The walls are thin so we could hear people walk down the hallway. Fortunately, this didn't happen very often. (5) The breakfast is serviceable and unfussy, but at 30 Euros for four people, overpriced.

Very reasonable priced room and fairly comfortable, but noise and smoke from outside was too much. Room was too hot even with heat turned off. Had to open windows to cool down. People smoking below and moving trash cans, playing guitars all night long. Miserable sleep for all of us as a result.

Busy but Comfortable
It is a large city centre hostel, spread out over a large area in a big building, busy but friendly. The dorm was only for 4 people and was spacious and comfortable. Large pleasant lounge area, and a good public bar open in the evenings. Decent buffet breakfast for 5 euro. Very fast internet throughout. The location could not be more central, with dozens of restaurant on the doorstep, and all of the city's attractions an easy walk away.

Cheap but nice hostel
The room and the ensuite is nice and clean, free breakfast is fair too. However the room is facing all the bars and restaurants which could be really loud at night unless you close your windows (but it's so hot!) there's free coffee and tea, a big lounge area too. It's right next to the Market as well so the location is great!

Happy Enough that I’d Stay Again
The location is great, the staff was nice, they offer towels and locks for a deposit (nicer than charging extra), luggage storage was free, and the WiFi was fast, and the room and bathroom were clean. My only complaints are: 1) the hallway is an echo chamber and anytime someone is walking or talking you can hear them—which was especially frustrating after midnight and in the early morning; and 2) Some from the courtyard comes into the room—even as a smoker this was not ideal imo and neither is closing the windows on a humid day. But overall, I would easily recommend this location.

It was my first experience in a hostel, in general the experience was good except for the internet, I had many issues, especially for connecting on the breakfast lounge where I need it most. It is very well situated

Nice hostel right in downtown
This hostel was very good regarding on cleanliness and location. But its structure is weird and in my opinion doesn't have common areas that favors meeting new people. For example the living room in not close from the bar, and the lounge is in anther floor. Also there are many families in the hostel. Said all that, if you are a solo traveler, may be difficult to meet people in this hostel. All the rest is great. The location and cleanliness.

two great nights in Leipzig
Great hotel/hostel at a great location. Free tea/coffee all day long, nice kitchen. The only snag is that some of the rooms face an inner courtyard, where there is a bar/restaurant at the ground level. So sometimes it's a bit noisy late into the night -- bring a pair of earplugs if that's a concern. Otherwise excellent.

Cool spot
Hostel was a little hard to find, is a little hidden. Wifi was good quality. Shower unfortunately would let water go out to the floor during every shower. Every bed had a light and one outlet. Lockers were the tall ones which was great but not even a divider in it.
