Cottage house with a view

Lovely house above the village of Lescun, a few steps away from the famous trekking path GR10 (across the Pyrénées). The house has 3 floors with 2 bedrooms : 1 bedroom on the top floor (1 double bed 160x200) and 1 bedroom on the bottom floor (1 double bed 160x200 and 1 single bed) from which you can access the bathroom and toilets. Bathroom with shower and WC, fully equiped kitchen (microwave, Nespresso, kettle, oven, fridge,...), 2 terraces with outdoor furnitures, a BBQ, a balcony by the living room. The beds are made, we supply the sheets, duvet and pillows, and tea towels as well for the kitchen, but you need to bring your bath towels (or we can rent some). A travel toddler bed is available.
The big house next door is where we live, but we are discreet and available if needed.
You will find our place quiet with an amazing view on the « Cirque de Lescun », with a big garden.
We can also cook diner for you, my husband Arnaud is a chef and cooks multicultural and traditional meals with local products (booking 48h in advance).
During school holidays, especially July and August, we only take weekly bookings.
Cleaning is not included, if you wish, we offer cleaning service for 45 euros (to be paid upon departure).

Lescun Cottage
We had such a wonderful week in Lescun. What a gem! The cottage is up the hill outside of the village which makes it very private but just a short stroll into town. Our hosts, Sonia and Arnaud could not have been more delightful. They were always available to help us navigate our way around the area. The hiking was beautiful and of course the view of the Pyrenees from the cottage is breath-taking. We can't wait to return someday.

Amazing home nestled in the mountains
The house is very cozy with outdoor space to enjoy. Unfortunately there was a lot of clouds during our stay but I can only asssume the views would be stunning. Sonia and her husband are so welcoming and friendly and we're very responsive to our questions. I would absolutely recommend this stay to anyone wanting to explore the Pyrenees mountains or just have a relaxing stay close to stunning nature.

What a wonderful place. The cottage is lovely and in an amazing location. And Sonia and Arnaud were just brilliant hosts - nothing was too much and we felt really welcome. The cottage was very comfortable with everything we needed and the views in all weather were stunning. Lovely walks from the door and Arnaud and Sonia were always at hand to give us advice on routes. Mountain paradise
I thought I would enjoy staying at Sonia and Arnaud’s from reviewing the listing. However, their home is so much more than I could have hoped for, and they were lovely hosts. A beautiful property with proximity to hiking and incredible views for days when you have managed to over do it on previous days. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed, and if you’re looking for quiet time in nature I cannot recommend this listing highly enough.

Beautiful location.
Lovely property in a very peaceful and scenic location. The owner recommended excellent activities. We saw many birds of prey from the property. Quite a few of the walks were close by. We would lo e to return.

We love Lescun
This is an amazing place above the village overlooking the Circ de Lescun. The views are better than in the photos and they change throughout the day. We had a self contained cottage and the owners live next door. The cottage was comfortable, and Sonia ensured we had all we need including a wood fire on cold nights. Sonia and Anaud gave us tips on places (hikes, towns, etc) to visit nearby (including in Spain) and they were all wonderful. For English speakers, it was a great help that they speak it fluently.

A magical location in the presence of majestic mountains.
What place! We hiked right from the front door or just sat and basked in the beauty of the pyrenees mountains. Sonia and family were very welcoming and made us feel very much at home. The beds are incredible! The nights are quiet. And the kitchen is very well stocked. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Truly, A Most Perfect Vacation
We have nothing but praise for this property and for Sonia, the proprietor, as well as her husband and son. These hosts, who live adjacent to the cottage. were extraordinarily warm and welcoming. They were very friendly without being intrusive and were always very, very helpful. Sonia is multilingual, and as Americans who don’t speak French, we were extremely impressed with and appreciative of her easy English. She was also generous and sweet with little gifts of local delicacies, which made us feel so special. I don’t believe you could ask for better VRBO hosts. As to the property, the cottage was absolutely charming. We were enchanted with it, and … OMG … the view is to die for. We enjoyed that view, which seemed to change all the time, when the weather wasn’t perfect just as much as when it was, which is really saying something, The cottage was very well-stocked, attractively furnished, clean, and comfortable. I don’t recall needing a thing except for towels, which we’d forgotten. We were brought some nice fluffy towels as soon as we asked. We found the bed comfortable and enjoyed the handy reading lights. The shower was great! This location is awesome for hikers! I can’t imagine a better location for those wanting to walk the many organized trails, including the GR10, in this area. They were literally all around you, The precious, old town of Lescun is a short, 10-minute walk downhill … and a longer walk back uphill, for us anyway. Phew! 😅 I would say to make sure to use the location coordinates Sonia provides to find your way, as it can be a little challenging. As a testament to their care, they even offer to meet guests in the village and guide them up to the cottage from there. Finally, I would suggest that those considering this property be mindful that it’s on three floors, with narrow steps to access each. The bathroom is on the bottom floor, so anyone sleeping in the top bedroom would need to go down two floors to access it. Pack lightly if you can, because you don’t want to have to lug around big suitcases on these steps. Respectfully, I don’t think this property would be suitable for physically challenged people, but we’re senior citizens of average stamina and health, and we had no problems at all. Thank you Sonia and family for providing us with a week we will never forget. We will always remember your kindness and that incredible view,

Un weekend allongé dans les Pyrénées
Nous avons tellement apprécié ce magnifique gite avec une vue superbe des montagnes. Sonia et Arnaud ont fait le plus possible pour nous pendant notre séjour et ils nous ont vraiment bichonnés avec un repas délicieux sur notre terrasse au coucher du soleil. Les randos qu'on peut faire depuis la porte sont super belles. C'était parfait!

Petite maison au-dessus du village, calme absolu. La literie est de très bonne qualité. Les coussins sur d'anciennes palettes font office de sofa 2 places et ne sont pas confortables ; la salle d'eau avec wc est très étroite et peu fonctionnelle. Le site est très joli et permet de belles balades.

De ligging van het huis is subliem. Je zit in een cirkel van hoge bergtoppen. Lescun een mooi klein bergdorp. De eigenaren zijn heel vriendelijk en gastvrij. Hier komen we beslist nog eens terug.

Bien démarrer l'année !
Un magnifique séjour à Lescun grâce à Sonia et Arnaud. Nous avons pu profiter du calme de Lescun, avec ses magnifiques paysages, sous le soleil comme sous la neige. La maison est parfaitement située et très agréable, meublée avec beaucoup de goût et de praticité. Quant aux hôtes... Que dire si ce n'est qu'ils sont une plus value indéniable du séjour! Super sejour à la maison Ourtasse
Nous avons passé une merveilleuse semaine de vacance en famille avec notre bébé de 5mois. Le logement, le cadre et la gentillesse de Sonia et Arnaud ont fait de ce sejour un moment plein de charme. Nous avons pu sortir tous les jours nous ballader au village en poussette (condition sportive minimale requise pour remonter au gite avec la poussette). La vue sur les montagnes est splendide. Sonia et Arnaud sont des supers hôtes prêts à rendre service. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !
