Bed and sheets were very comfortable but the room is fairly dated. The window didn’t open and the air conditioning rattled like a train so it really couldn’t be used. Consequently the room was quite hot.

I loved this grand hotel…. The staff at the Arms restaurant were so friendly and professional… the food was amazing and my room was impeccably clean and offered great amenities. I loved the Nespresso machine for my morning coffee. I also appreciated the chaise loungers in the mezzanine to relax and read. I will definitely recommend this beautiful hotel in the heart of Halifax

Terrible Stay Due to Noise and Unhelpful Staff
I was excited to stay at this hotel for its proximity to the waterfront and Public Gardens. The architecture is beautiful, and the lobby is truly a sight to behold. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. My partner and I were on the same floor as several guests from a wedding, and after the reception, many of them gathered in their rooms and in the hallway, continuing to party well into the early morning. They were slamming doors, shouting, and screaming throughout the night. Despite multiple calls to the front desk between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m., the noise only increased, and the staff’s attempts to address the issue were ineffective, making it impossible for my partner and me to get any sleep. The room was clean, and the bed comfortable; however, the lack of control over noise disturbances and poor responsiveness to complaints completely overshadowed these positives. Despite the significant disruption and lack of sleep, we weren’t offered any compensation, such as a refund or a complimentary night, which added to our disappointment. I would not recommend staying at The Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites.
