All areas of the cottage are accessible to our guests. Enjoy early mornings with a coffee on the back deck or late afternoons on the front porch under the shade of the trees on the swinging chair. We have a large back garden for fun activities. We are dog friendly and have a large secured back garden for the furry friends to run around. For larger dogs which can clear fences we have a large kennel at the back of the garden for when your out & about.
We are only minutes drive from the majestic Wolgan Valley, a 15 minute drive from Lithgow and approx. 2.5 hours North west of sydney.
Within a close drive you’ll find several significant Aboriginal sacred sites including Maiyingu Marragu (Blackfellows hands) which is a collection of Aboriginal hand stencils dating back 50,000 years and also several aboriginal burial sites in the area.
The bushwalking trails include the pipeline track, which goes from Newnes to Glen Davis, the Wolgan valley heritage trail, as well as the trail from Newnes to the glow-worm tunnel.
There are many dirt bike tracks, 4WD tracks, camping grounds that are open to the public. The valley also contains numerous slot canyons and is popular for rock climbing.
Lake Wallace and lake Lyell are both in close proximity and are perfect for fishing, canoeing and jet skiing.
The vineyards in Mudgee & Orange are also great day trips.
Wallerawang is our local village approximately 10 minutes drive from the house where you’ll find a local store for all your shopping needs.
There’s a great cafe at the old train station in Wallerawang serving great coffee & breakfast. The pie shop further downtown does amazing homemade pies, sausage rolls and takeaway food. The Chinese restaurant is definitely worth a try but they do not deliver.
For fine dining you will have to venture to Lithgow, the blue fox bar and kitchen is highly recommended plus the Ambermere Inn in little Hartley is definitely a destination for all you food lovers.
The tin shed in Lithgow also does a mean coffee, breakfast & lunch.
The secret creek cafe & restaurant in Lithgow caters for vegans.
The best way to get around is by car. The closest train station is in Lithgow. There are taxis available in Lithgow if needed and a taxi rank close to the Lithgow train station.
Motorbikes, push bikes and hiking are also great ways to see the beautiful nature which surrounds us.

Things to know:
To use the television use the remote with the Netflix symbol to place the tv on AV, please allow a minute for the channels to appear.
Then use the other remote for channel changing, volume etc.

The hot water may take a minute to heat when the taps are turned on.
When lightning the wood burner leave the damper open until the fire is fully lit then you can adjust the damper to low to retain heat.
