We were met by a very friendly man on reception, and in fact all contact we had with staff (minimal) was great. Warm, friendly and helpful. We put the car in the garage (extra charge) which was secure and had plenty of space. There was free street parking in the locale but we had a lot of bags to stay in the car and we didn't want to risk it.
The rooms are in various blocks, as previous reviews have said it is a bit like student digs or a youth hostel. For a family with young children (8 And 6) who were hardly in the room it was more than adequate.
Pros- shutters to make the room dark. Comfortable beds, nice linen and towels. Spotless kitchenette and bathroom, fridge, table and chairs for breakfast. Sofa bed was a reasonable size for two adults, sliding door between bedroom and lounge gave privacy. Garage. Staff.
Cons- smelt kind of funky all the time, even after windows left wide open. I think it was the carpet. Room very dated, torn net curtain, broken sliding door, carpet was dubious. Weird neighbours were banging doors all night long, heaven knows what they were up to. It did wake me up. No aircon. It was very hot but we coped, this wouldn't be an issue year round as Windows open properly. Some street noise, not all rooms face the street.
It was clean. I would NOT recommend to others I know but I would stay again. It suited us, it might suit you. NOTE- It is not like other adagio I have stayed in.
