Great place to stay! A little outside the core of Miraflores, but very close to the ocean where you can walk and see beautiful views. You need the owners to let you in and out of the hotel, so if you plan to come in late or leave early, you may need to ring the bell a couple of times for them to come and unlock. May be a good idea to let the hotel know if you plan to arrive late or leave early.
There was very little info for attractions to see. Had to keep asking for bottled water when there was an empty water cooler to look at. A small fridge was supplied for all clients to use after
I was there for about 10 days already. But in all, I felt I was in a classy hotel with nice hosts.I would recommend this hostel as a good one.
I am very disappointed in this hotel. There are numerous items which the staff was either indifferent or did not care. First of all the shower and toilet seat cover had mold growing on it. We asked the staff to clean them but they didn't. Second all of the four people staying in the room were bitten by insects. We spent 18 days in Peru and Bolivia without being bitten. This is especially concerning due to the potential diseases that insects can vary (I.e. Zika). We even saw colonies of ants in the room. Finally our cell phones were not working and we asked the staff if we could make a local call to see if a restaurant was open on New Year. The staff directed us down the street to buy a phone card. While I understand there are certain things beyond the control of the hotel. The staff did not even attempt to rectify or help us in anyways. During our vacation all over South America, all of the other hotels, at least made an effort to assist us in any way that they could. Due to all of the facts listed above we do not feel comfortable staying the Hotel. We relied on the ratings provided on the website but it turned out to be a big disappointment.
I felt like I got a lot of value for what I paid at Hostal Residencial - Los Andes. Jose was very helpful on the phone when I called and the staff overall was very welcoming and helped to coordinate taxi pickups and tips about the area. I felt safe walking around to the beach a few blocks away and even walking back at night around 10pm. The room is basic, with no frills decor, but everything you need to get a good night's rest after exploring Lima. My only complaint would be that the connecting doors and walls were not very thick, so I could hear the next door guest having a conversation like they were in the same room as me, but not entirely the hotel's fault. I would not recommend for anyone expecting more than basic accommodations, this is clean hotel, with friendly staff, for what you pay for. Learn some Spanish, and at least try to attempt to speak it and you will appreciate your experience in Lima!
Walking distance to the beach, secure area out and inside hotel, my rental car was parked on the streets with no issues because of the secure area. Owners are very friendly as well as the staff that work there are very helpful... This is my second time staying there :)
Secure place, nice people. Although I didn't like I had to wait to check in for 40 mins cuz room wasn't ready second time I stayed,... everything else was perfectly fine... Will stay there again
Had 6 night stay, price was great, close to exercise trail along mirador and bus routes! Hosts were pleasant and accomodating. Very private and secure! Would definitely stay again!
Stayed here late Oct. Very limited hot water - just a trickle, and I was the only one there. Room very simple and basic. Location so-so. I would recommend to spend a few dollars more elsewhere.
It is hard to communicate with the staff in this hotel if you don't speak Spanish. I only met one who spoke reasonable English, and I did not meet him until I was checking out after a three night stay. Also during my stay a local tour company with whom I had a booking rang the hotel with an urgent message for me, but the first time they rang they were told that there was nobody with my name staying in the hotel. Fortunately the second time they rang, the staff member who answered the phone recognized my name.
Everyone who works there is super nice & helpful! They offered great tips, spots & directions. They have a really nice garden on the highest floor. It is really close to a park in Malecón if you like walking you can get to different parts of the Malecón. Getting a cab & taxi is not difficult there but you will have to travel to see many spotlights.
