I loved that it's an old historical hotel. The check-in process was a bit of a wait, and the room was very small, but it was exactly what I needed for my short visit and I was thrilled to be there.

Bathroom excellent apart from aged almost collapsing window frame. Bedroom huge a bit dated but comfortable. Mattress appalling springs poking everywhere on bed nearest window, had to fold towels for comfort

I thought the Hotel was tired looking but it has a lot of character. The twin room was more than adequate, the bathroom has been refurbished to a very high standard. The only negative was the booking system. I would have thought that when I (and everyone else) had booked in online, there shouldn't have been a need to queue and book in again, I had an online reference number and was told to show that at reception to recieve a key, we queued for over 45 mins to book in again and was not asked for the ref no. This made us late getting to our venue.

the adelphi has a pretty poor reputation but we found it good, ok parts could do with a bit of a refurb but our room was adequate and clean, the position in the city centre is perfect and we would stay there again

The only thing i am disappointed about is being charged twice for my stay i paid Britannia Hotel Link i was sent and charged again when i arrived at the hotel which i have spoke to the Supervisor about this and sent an email to to there reception inbox and he has said he will sort this on Monday hopefully just its disappointing that the systems don't update each other when a payment is made.

If only bedrooms were as impressive as hotel.

Steeped with history, the downstairs areas are clean, comfortable and full of old opulent charm. Upstairs (budget room) clean and comfortable adequate for a short stay, but sadly also a little dated and dowdy.

A lovely period hotel. Much more character than modern ones. Only problems it could do with a bit of updating, dirty towels in the cupboard and no mirror in the bathroom. However the staff rectified the dirty towels within 10mins and a mirror had been fitted by lunchtime. Breakfast was excellent, good choice from the buffet, full English or continental or both. Car parking next door for £13/day in the city centre thats great value.

Beds were awful, no light in bedroom except for 1 small lamp. Dirty bathroom and filthy mat . I slipped whilst showering so for remander of stay I didn't use it. Card only in bars in hotel, this was NOT stated when booking. Huge queue to check in , no where to sit , being disabled this was awful . Bland uncomfortable rooms , I was very disappointed and will not return.
