Had enough of being an armchair traveller? Want to experience the real thing? Lo is the perfect place to start. You'll find it sitting among the beautiful forests and rocky coastline of Vasternorrland County. (You might have to sidestep the well-trodden tourist trail, but that's what travelling is all about, right?)

It's located 410 kilometres to the north of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.

Spend a day kicking back at Skuleskogen National Park. You'll find it just 35 kilometres away from Lo. Fill your lungs with the fresh, clean air and take a moment to reflect.

Seeking even more fantastic attractions? Go to Salsåker, 25 kilometres east of Lo, for Villa Fraxinus Garden and Rovarbyn. Alternatively, Sandoverken is 30 kilometres to the southeast, and it's here you'll come across High Coast Bridge and the Sidengalleriet.

Spend some time wandering around the Casino Cosmopol Sundsvall, Sundsvall Museum and Gustav Adolfs Church. All of these sights are pretty close to the middle of Sundsvall, 80 kilometres away. More time to kill? Norra Bergets Park and Himlabadet Water Park should also feature on your itinerary.

Transform your holiday in the region into a real adventure with a bit of ice skating or ice fishing. They're both very popular outdoor activities here.
