The Alhambra is the best of the smaller hotels built into townhouses in the King's Cross area. Rooms are small, but not as cramped as the others - windows open and fans are available, though typically, summer evenings are cool enough in London.
There aren’t a lot of amenities - kettles, always, with coffee and tea making accoutrements- but there isn’t a mini fridge, nor should you expect one.
Rooms are very clean, housekeeping and towels changed ever other day, but you can request towels anytime. Someone is on duty 24/7 in the main building and they’re courteous and kind.
Be aware the streets are noisy outside! Travellers coming and going at all hours, street cleaners start early, and happy drunk people chat at top volume late at night. Try to get an upstairs room, but remember, you’re lugging your worldly hoods up the narrow stairs if so.
The Alhambra offers prices for clean rooms right by King’s Cross/St. Pancras - what more could you want?
