I chose this hotel specifically because it advertised soundproof rooms, and I needed a quiet place due to some work I was doing. But I was hearing construction noise from above me all day. The hours of the noise would have been perfectly acceptable if I just needed to sleep in the room and leave for the day, but it was disruptive and extremely disappointing.
The fact that the front door is locked 24/7 was nice for security, but it made the hotel feel very unfriendly when I arrived to check in, especially since no one was at reception (though I did arrive about an hour before check in time). Ultimately, Krishna did come to reception and checked me in half an hour early, and he was extremely friendly and kind, which helped a lot to overcome the initial unwelcoming impression.
The room itself was very nice, and the bathroom was great - I enjoyed the hot shower with good pressure. I also had a spectacular view of the church yard, out of two floor-to-ceiling windows, and it was incredibly peaceful to look out and people-watch. Shoreditch is a fun, artistic neighborhood, and the hotel is very well situated for walking and exploring.
If I hadn't needed quiet, or if there hadn't been construction, this would have been a perfect place to stay.
