It was advertised as having parking available (the reason I picked it) but upon arrival at 12.30am (original flight was cancelled) there was no evidence of a car park. I had to phone from outside and they directed me to a shopping centre car park (I was given the wrong post code so was driving in circles for 20 minutes). Then I had to walk to the hotel from the car park which cost £10.
There wasn’t even an apology. Unacceptable
Wonderful service nice and modern and very attentive staff. The rooms are small but the location helps as your super close to everything and aren't there really.
The hotel had a nice feel to it. Nicely decorated and well kept. Issue we had is it was not practical for our needs. 2 people in a room where the bed is up by the wall on one side so whoever got that side had to literally climb over to get out of bed. This wasn’t great when one is disabled and the other has an injured arm. Lights in bathroom did not work in bathroom at night without having to turn master which turned main lights on. Unpleasant smell when first entered like someone had used the loo and not used any air freshener. The bathroom door is also not suitable as it doesn’t provide privacy. Ok if you are on your own. But as a couple, had to stay away from the spaces beside door and frame, but can hear all. It’s more like a shower cubicle door. Parking was interesting. No car park for hotel itself but local parking right round the back for shopping complex which allows overnight parking. Make sure you sat nav to the car park and not hotel as that sent us in circles and in the dark was very frustrating. However there were some great points. Bed was really comfy, clean and room was peaceful with no outside noise heard considering its central location and by a tube station. Easy check in at desk and check out. Friendly staff.
Room was a little smaller than expected but adequate, no cafine free coffee in the room but I'd brought some. Bathroom included an amazing shower. Breakfast was disappointing although eggs are made to order not no eggs available without asking, what was there i.e. bacon, sausage etc eas cold. Overall disappointing for a major chain hotel
The room was extremely cold and despite every effort tobuse the thermostat there was no warm air. The vents werevlike abjet engine, the noise was terrible, so loud that it disturbed my stay and it was cold.
There was black pubic hair on the bedding. It was functional but basic.
The rooms were extremely small and claustrophobic.
The bar & restaurant were closed. The rooms are small and the bed is large and comfortable but built in against the wall so you are only able to get out on one side.
Very economy, and not Hilton Standard.
Travelodge or Premier Inn would be a better option.
Positive is that it was easy to get in and out of London as the station is next door. No parking nearby. The room had bits falling off, and paint dripping all over the floor. Kettle was broken and wouldn’t stop boiled, so I burnt my hand. The curtain was hanging off the rail and let the sun in! Complained to the hotel via Expedia, the hotel didn’t care and was unfriendly to the Expedia rep.
Avoid danger of theft! My parents stayed for a few nights. After the second night during the day they stole my father's credit card and made a substantial amount of transactions for about £10,000 as it is an international card!
When I went to discuss to the hotel the first response was "why do you worry if the bank will reimburse him the money". Which is shameless and dishonest.
I obviously reported the crime to the police. The next day I went back to confront the manager who didn't make any effort to support and only said "I can't do anything because this is with the police."
I followed with a formal complaint to hilton who referred it to the local management which responded with the same response. Absolutely appalling from the management and the thief.
Apart from the crime, the room was a King but the size was more of a single. Which is fine if you call it that but dishonest to call it King size. You could barely pass to the other side of the bed.
