The hotel is tired and certainly not 5* (though I understand it is about to be refurbished). A key reason I chose the hotel was for air conditioning and it wasn’t working. I complained and was told that an engineer would fix it whilst we were out, I later found out they already knew about the problem and it was never going to be fixed so I was annoyed about the lack of honesty. On the second night we were told we would be moved to a room with ac but when we can back we found it was a double and we had clearly required a twin.They did find a twin in the end but after another 30 min wait at 10pm. The second night was better but it is a really expensive hotel to not have ac and to have to move twice - really we hardly had any use of a suitable room. Overall I was really disappointed. Many staff did try to help though. In saying all that the location is really handy and perhaps the refurb will transform it.

The location is superb. Staff were friendly but we had two separate problems with the bill both on arrival and pdeparture . The suite was mostly great but the bathroom in particular showed signs of wear and tear . The club piano hour was very good . Concierges were always to hand and helpful

Odd mixture

An odd mixture of hotel experience: super friendly helpful staff, and modern fittings in room. But, room smelt stuffy (had previous guests been smoking?), windows were closed and although we opened then, the room remained hot, even though cool outside. We could not switch off bathroom fan, despite trying everything except phoning reception (wish I had)

Really Impressed

I booked this hotel for my daughter, who was there to watch a show as her 21st birthday present from us. I let the hotel know that this was the case and to our surprise they arranged balloons in the room and a bottle of prosecco. This was such a nice touch and really made it feel special for her, so I am both really impressed and very grateful to the staff that did this and went the extra mile. My daughter loved the hotel and had a great time thank you!

As a 5 star hotel you have an expectation of a 5 star and not 2 star. This was so far one of my worst experiences, room was very small and extremely noisy, we couldn’t even rest. The room had a very poor design and feels like that we are in a cage. We didn’t even shower. Stuff are amazing very helpful.

Great room but lock faults and below par breakfast

The Room was insecure, a Caretaker had to fix the card reader/lock fault. The room itself and hotel interior was of a very good standard. Breakfast was disappointing - no bread/toast option to go with the cooked egg/bacon/beans items; and the food wasn't hot. In contrast, the fruit juices were warm. Then the Room's card reader had the opposite fault of not unlocking and we needed assistance again.

Give This Hotel A Wide Berth

The hotel looks amazing but there are buts...... 1. The AC didn't work in the room - a small fan was given but did not cool the room 2. Becase of the AC issues the hotel offered a free breakfast as way of an apology- very nice i thought but i was charged for it! The hotel doesnt reply to any emails which is disappointing Because of the very poor lack of communication from the hotel, I definitely would not stay at this hotel again, which is a real same because the building is beautiful

Looks impressive, but too many issues.

On first impressions this hotel looks impressive. The location is good on a quiet street, with two tube stations within a 5 min walk. The staff are very freindly and helpful. Unfortunately the decore needs looking at. From a distance it looks fine but upon closer inspection there are a few areas that need tidying up. In my room there was what looks like mold on the wall beteen the twin beds. An air vent in the ceiling was missing so I could see shoddy plaster work and a big hole. The lights above the wardrobe were broken making it very dark when finding clothes. The curtains needs to be washed as they had marks and stains on them. The room I was given initially had broken aircon and was unbearably hot. I asked for a room change and was shown another room which I was happy with, but when I gathered my bags I was then told the room had been given to somebody else, this made me slightly angry as it was 8.30pm and I wanted to relax. I then had to sit in reception for 20 mins and was eventually shown two more rooms. One was a double, no good as I'd booked a single, the other room wasn't to the same standard as I was expecting. Eventually they put me in the first room they had shown me, this was fine and had working aircon. I would have stayed here again, but after these issues I would choose somewhere else to stay.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share how uncomfortable our stay was. The room had no air conditioning, which in the middle of summer made it absolutely unbearable. We were sweating through the night and couldn’t get proper rest. To make things worse, the phones in the room didn’t even work, meaning we couldn’t contact staff directly in an urgent situation – a serious safety concern. When we finally did speak to someone, we weren’t offered a new room or proper resolution – just a tiny fan that did nothing but blow around hot air. For the price and reputation of this hotel, the lack of basic comfort and safety measures was shocking. It’s unacceptable not to have functioning AC or a working phone line, and the lack of care in resolving the issue was extremely disappointing. Would not recommend – especially during warmer months.
