The hotel is quite run down in need of refurbishment. On entry, the reception was quite dark and eerie and had many surveillance screens behind the front desk, almost like something you would expect in a seedy area. But it was perfectly safe, it’s Switzerland. Rooms are small (at least the twin room I got was), looks a bit different from the photos. Inside was like a room from the 80s, floorboard creaked a little and the room was on a bit of a mild slope as our suitcases kept rolling down.
No aircond (but to be fair was not needed when I was there in June) but the window can be opened to let fresh air in. Water from the tap was drinkable and encouraged so don’t expect to get bottled water.
The location is the best thing, a stone throw away from the main shopping area and the main sites like the Charles bridge and lions monument. But it’s still about a 15 min walk from lucerne main station.
Shower pressure in bathroom was weak.
Breakfast was okay, had quite a variety but nothing spectacular.
For the price paid, I think the room quality was poor but maybe that’s just because it’s Switzerland where everything is just that much more expensive.
It’s sufficient for a transit stay but don’t expect too much.
