The Tytherington is a gorgeous facility with clean, beautiful rooms and a spa to die for. The dining options are wonderful, and the coffee superb. We've been there several times now and never had a less-than-fabulous visit. Highly recommend.

I don’t understand why this place has such a high rating, and the price seems unreasonable (even in central London, you can find much better hotels for the same price). The staff has no sense of hospitality: check-in is at 4 PM, we arrived around 5, yet they still asked us to wait without offering tea or coffee after our journey. In the morning, I informed them that there was no shower gel, shampoo (a 2-in-1), or conditioner in the bathroom—the bottles were empty. I was told I should have come down and asked for it myself! For over £100 per night, do I still need to go ask for basic amenities? The hotel also doesn’t provide slippers or a robe, and there was litter on the bathroom floor and bits of what looked like leaves on the bed. The carpet looks dirty. I chose this hotel for its advertised spa facilities. I called a day before to check if everything was in working order and was assured it was, yet the steam room was out of service with no prior notice. There’s a small sauna that’s almost always full, a hot tub, and a small pool. This is not a true spa experience; the sauna is only worth it if you use the gym as a member. The wet area is moldy, and the paint is peeling (it should really be tiled). On the positive side: the furniture is new, the bed is comfortable, the breakfast is a standard English breakfast, there’s parking, and the shower has good pressure and consistent temperature.

Guy on reception wasn’t to impressed that we had booked through Hotel.com . He was not impressed that we pay “cheap price” and therefore stop corporate clients from staying !!. Spa facilities were either out of order or faulty . We value this venue and have stayed a few times but the attitude of one particular reception members will make us think twice next time .

We stayed here as we were going to a friends birthday party in Buxton. - Plenty of parking - Free Wifi - Friendly Staff - Lovely building - Very nice, mondern, big rooms - Very clean - Great price - Breakfast was fantastic - Spa ok - Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Attended a golf event at the hotel and stayed for just one night room excellent and very clean golf course was undergoing some improvements around the greens on the front 9 and heavily sanded on the back 9 which did adversely affect the round food offered at night was pretty poor to say the least
