We used to come to this property quite a few times. Last time was a few years ago. We decided to book again this year. Got the same room we had the last previous time which was cool (Room 317) When we booked, it said continental breakfast. There used to be a large dining room on the second floor, you could see it from the pool. Apparently they stopped the breakfast. The hot tub in the Crows Nest is still there but looks like it hasn't been used in years. The deck area where it's at is so full of Algae, mold and overgrowth is not only disgusting, its dangerous. The balcony of 317 overlooks this and also has Algae and overgrowth on it. At no time when we booked, were we told the hot tub was out of order (the 1st floor hot tub barely works) Our room while clean, the wallpaper was peeling from the walls and the room, the smell of disinfectant or whatever cleaner they use is over powering and only half the lights worked (the ceiling fan was a point of concern for me.
It's a shame, this used to be such a wonderful hotel, but it doesnt look like anytime was spent on the upkeep. We invited friends with us and it was embarrassing because over and over I was saying "this used to be a really nice hotel"
Thes staff was excellent from the front desk, to the cleaning crew to the maintenance man (yes he had to come to our room to take care of the TV)
But, whomever the owner is, should be ashamed as to how far standards have fallen and the conditions of the hotel
