Our reservation at the Madrid Chamartin hotel was from October 29th to November 1st. I searched on Expedia for a hotel with two important conditions for us, one the location close to the train station and the second having air conditioning. Our first night after a long trip was very bad, even though the temperature outside was in the mid-fifties Fahrenheit, the hotel decided to put on central heating and we didn't have the chance to turn on the air conditioning, the room felt like a sauna. The next morning the young man at the front desk told us that there was no possibility to turn on the AC because the hotel management had decided to switch to central heating and the only thing we could do was open the window. Our second and third night we opened the window and we didn't sleep either because the noise outside was unbearable between the cars, the construction nearby and the people in the building across the street arguing in the middle of the night. My husband complained the second night for the second time and the same young man at the reception told us that he could change us to another room possibly cooler when we opened the window, that was for us like a mockery and very unprofessional, that option after two nights without sleep and we were already leaving the next day. I like to be a fair person and the only thing that the hotel really has good is the breakfast that is included and is varied. I do not recommend this hotel nor do I plan to book it again.

A bit basic for a luxury hotel by Chamartín station is nearby and some cheap but good dining options. Good perhaps for a short stay.

This hotel should be removed from the Melia hotel chain, updated and in very bad conditions, no route access and taxi are very limited, I stayed one night today Oct 4th and I will never stay again. AC is not working and elevator are not working or streaming slow Francisco

This is an old hotel that has not been updated recently with paper-thin walls so that you can hear people in neighboring rooms quite clearly. I would not recommend this hotel.
