Lovely helpful charming staff. Very chic hotel both rooms and public areas.
Very generous 30% discount in the main restaurant but sadly the food was especially poor and lets the hotel down badly.
The food looks chic to match the surroundings but in all three courses did not match the description on the menu. The dessert was inedible. For example it was described as having ‘coconut mousse’ which was in fact aerosol cream squirted on the plate with toasted coconut sprinkled on top.
The turbot was beautifully cooked actually but the sauce was tasteless gunge. It was described as coming with parsnip parmentier. It was a puree. I checked with the waiter who said ‘yes, that’s the parmentier, it is puree’. It isn’t.
I had a nice glass of Cava to start with. A standard measure. I knocked it over and they kindly replaced it with a massive measure. I then ordered a glass of wine which was served by a different waitress and I thought she had poured it ready for me to taste. But no, it was a minute measure and she walked away. The staff were all nice but clearly not managed well on something as basic as wine measures. Likewise presumably the kitchen staff are not trained. There were other errors with the food, not personal taste, basic errors.
Like I said, a shame, the hotel itself and rooms and location are excellent and receive my five stars.
