Seasonal Road Closure Notice: HWY 120 (Tioga Pass) generally closes for the winter from late October through late June. Daily closures can also occur during periods of inclement weather in spring and fall. The Eastern entrance to Yosemite National Park is located 45 minutes from Mammoth Lakes. Yosemite's Eastern Gate or Tuolumne Meadows is not accessible when Tioga Pass is closed. All other Yosemite National Park entrances are open year round. The staff was very kind, especially Stephanie! Great stay overall, with a steam room and sauna! Breakfast was great, staff were awesome, and the room was clean! I would definitely come back.

This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. The property is extremely old, and both the lobby and the room were in significant disrepair. The bed sagged and folded into the middle. Only one bedside light worked—and only after I located and plugged it in myself. The bathroom was particularly unacceptable. The bath mat was torn, the drain plug was rusted and left sitting on the side of the tub, and no bath towels were provided at all. Paint was peeling from the window sills, and there were no blackout shades. When I attempted to hang clothes, the hangers broke—an indication of how worn and neglected the room was. For a two-star hotel charging nearly $200 per night with tax, I expect at minimum a clean room and functional, up-to-date amenities. This hotel did not meet even basic standards. I will never stay at a Shilo property again.

Room was clean and sheets felt soft, pillows were good too, not stiff like most motels we’ve stayed at. The 24hr complimentary coffee and hot chocolate was awesome! Also their included morning breakfast was great, they had a REAL waffle maker and the bagels were good too. Staff was nice and helpful.

The place is under construction, so great they’re paying attention to it. The only reason we stayed here was because they allow pets. But wow, our room had stains on the wall, torn curtains, and smelled really bad from cigarettes and god know what else. Staff was really nice and helpful. But the property just isn’t great. They do have covered parking. Free breakfast was minimal. Pool was drained and all the walls ripped out. So it was a mess. I’m hoping to come back after the renovation but it wasn’t looking great when I stayed.

Hard bed, old and dated interior, lamp shades deteriorated and also the window drapes shredding apart. Carpet is old and ripped. Nothing fancy but I feel I over paid at $150 a night.

The desk service was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was surprisingly good; including fresh made waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage patties. The room was just ok. The furniture looked like it was from the 80's and well used. The bed was comfortable and pillows in good shape. The carpet looked in poor condition and in need of professional cleaning/replaced. The hallway carpets were in worse condition and there was a smell in the hallway (carpet most likely). This is a winter destination and it is understandable the carpets get wet more often than normal.
