The Clayton hotel Manchester City centre was very close to the main shops, shopping center Arndale & in walking distance to the Chinese district in Manchester. All the staff were so friendly and helpful.

We came to a cold room. Heat adjustment in the room worked, but when it reached the desired temperature, it shut off and did NOT restart, as the temperature dropped. So cold nights. And no heat in the bathroom, very cold and unpleasant floor. The crew behind the breakfast buffet seemed understaffed and took way too long time in filling empty plates and bowls.

A well priced hotel in a great, central location. I have been a guest here before so knew what to expect but it is good value compared with other similar hotels. Recommended.

Noisiest room I have ever experienced

Stayed for two nights. The Friday was fine. Unfortunately I was ill and spent all of the Saturday in bed. That night the music blasting from outside stopped me from sleeping and this continued until nearly 1am. I called reception advising surely there was a curfew on such noise, who advised it was a Saturday and they could not hear it. could move rooms however this would be on a different floor. Not being well I did not want to be trekking round the hotel. It sounded as if there was no window the noise was that loud. I discovered that the window did not actually close properly and needed forcing fully shut which was difficult. Although this improved the amount of noise slightly, the music was still extremely loud and you could hear people talking. There needs to be a warning or people should not be put in these rooms on a Saturday. Shame you can’t upload voice recordings to demonstrate how loud it was

A great weekend break

Ideally situated in central Manchester on the edge of Chinatown. Carparking not controlled by the hotel is available very nearby. Plenty of good restaurants close by of various nationalities as well as a lot of pubs and bars. The hotel itself is modern with reasonable sized well equipped rooms. The lobby, bar and restaurant are modern, spacious and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
