With the main house having 2 queen bedrooms and an open plan living/kitchen area it can sleep up to 7 guests in air conditioned & heated comfort. Then put the rest of your crew into the newly built rear cabin, with its queen bedroom, and large rumpus with space for another 5 guests.

Whether you invite a second family or group of friends to join you in the cabin, or give the teenagers their own space while you enjoy some adult downtime, the options are endless!
The front and rear decks are covered with year-round pergolas, so you can enjoy the BBQ, outdoor games, and fresh air in all weather. Or, simply lounge on the bean bags.
Outdoor games like soccer, backyard cricket, Connect 4, Risk, Jenga, Pétanque, frisbees, and a trampoline provide hours of fun for kids and adults alike. Inside, you'll find a foosball table, along with a variety of toys, games, and books to keep everyone entertained.
After a day of adventure, how about a hot outdoor shower under the stars on a cool evening? If you're not quite up for that, the indoor shower is always available.
Both houses have been fully insulated, feature large heat pumps for year-round comfort, and are equipped with solar panels to help reduce energy consumption and promote sustainability. They are both equipped with a smart flat-screen TV (freeview/netflix/casting etc). We also provide ample WiFi for all your needs.
There’s plenty of parking space for boats, jet skis, toys, or caravans, with parking available in both the front and back yards.

Our Kiwi Bach may not be a 5-star property just yet, but it’s a welcoming, comfortable space that’s perfect for kicking back and relaxing! It’s our family lake house, where we love to make the most of the local area and use it as a base for all kinds of activities.
In keeping with the Kiwi Bach tradition, we kindly ask guests to leave the house in a tidy condition and to either do the dishes before you leave or at least load them into the dishwasher and turn it on before departing.
We provide high-quality mattresses, pillows, and duvets on all beds, with plenty of spare blankets available if needed. Our Sleepyhead Beds are consistently praised for their comfort!
A $100 cleaning & linens fee per stay covers our local cleaning crew, who ensure the house is fresh and tidy before and after your stay. They also take care of our guest reviews.
We’re pet-friendly (with prior notice) and charge the same rate for pets as we do for extra guests. While some booking platforms may not allow pets, we can arrange this after booking. This fee allows us to cover the additional cleaning, including carpet shampooing, to ensure the space remains fresh for the next guests.
Please note that smoking is only allowed outside, and all cigarette butts must be properly disposed of in the bin—please do not leave them on the grounds.

Our place is within walking distance to the local shops. There is a small grocery store, bakery, cafe, pharmacy and takeaways. The closest petrol station is in Whakamaru, about 5 mins drive.

Mangakino is a small town located next to Lake Maraetai and in the heart of the North Island of New Zealand, in the Great Lake Taupo region. Once a thriving town due to the construction of the many dams in the area and the forestry industry. It is now a small and quiet lakeside village and has become more popular with holiday makers and tourists alike. Mangakino is the perfect place to enjoy the stunning lake and forest scenery, great for water sports, golf, mountain biking and hiking or just a relaxing weekend away.
Have a relaxing summer picnic lunch or dinner on the shores of Lake Maraetai while watching the thrills and spills of the wakeboarders out on the water. The lake also reaches comfortable temperatures for swimming during summer.
You can also hire mountain bikes and kayaks at the lakefront.
The perfect spot for hiking and mountain biking, the Waikato River Trails run both directions along from the Mangakino lakefront.
Going south to the Whakamaru Dam it features a 70 metre suspension bridge across the Waikato River, 4km from the Mangakino end of the trail.
Hiking in the Pureora Forest is also popular, particularly the renowned Timber Trail.
You will need a car to get here. There is no public transport.
