Holidays in Manguil-tong

FOMO, wanderlust, itchy feet. Whatever you want to call it, there's only one way to solve it — head to Manguil-tong. No matter what sort of adventures you're looking for, this Seoul 'hood has loads going for it. The capital of South Korea is home to some 10,300,000 people. Don't be afraid to get out and introduce yourself to a few of them! Manguil-tong is 12 kilometres east of central Seoul. If you're arriving via Gimpo International Airport, hurl your suitcase in the back of a taxi and drive 25 kilometres east.

Manguil-tong is heaven on earth for sightseers. A good deal of the city's top attractions are dotted near this interesting neighbourhood, including Dongdaemun Market and the Korea University. Don't forget to put Seoul Forest and the Dongdaemun Gate on your itinerary too. A good way to soak up this city is to roam around some of its neighbourhoods. So why not swing by nearby Sinnaeil-tong and Jungnang-gu and explore their sights and sounds?

No getaway to Seoul is complete without calling into Gyeongbok Palace. As far as wondrous attractions go, it's up there with the best. It's located just 1 kilometre from the city centre.

Need some advice on things to do in the city centre? Kick off your sightseeing adventure at the Sungnyemun Gate and Deoksugung Palace. N Seoul Tower and the Jogyesa Temple should also be included in any visit downtown.

Look closely into the glass cabinets and discover the artefacts on display as you wander through the fascinating collections of the Sejong University Museum and the Seoul Yangnyeongsi Herb Medicine Museum.

If the fast-paced energy of city life is becoming too much, recharge in one of the nearby parks. Hongneung Arboretum, Gwangnaru Hangang Park, Amsadunchi Ecological Park and Jangja Lake Park are lovely spots to kick off your shoes and relax.

A trip away is a splendid opportunity to do some window shopping and grab a souvenir or two. Remember to have a walk through Gyeongdong Market and Dapsimni Antiques Market!

The Donggureung Tomb Cluster, Taereung and Gangreung Royal Tombs, Yeonghwiwon & Sunginwon Burial Mounds and King Sejong The Great Memorial Hall have many stories to tell. History nerd or not, you're sure to find out something at these age-old sites.

In the heart of Seoul, L7 GANGNAM by LOTTE HOTELS is within a 5-minute drive of COEX Convention and Exhibition Center and Bongeunsa Temple.
Room a little on the small size, view of the park from window was nice. Otherwise good stay overall. Personal touches allowed us to store our luggage temporarily since we had a late flight.
