Marina Del Castillo Ground floor 2 bed 2 bath with terrace in an excellently located tranquil beach front complex with an excellent swimming pool, situated centrally within very easy walking distance between Duquesa Marina/Port and El Castillo fishing village. Walking along the promenade a little further takes you to beach front chiringuitos and the Spanish town/resort of Sabillinas. Duquesa is a great family or romantic getaway location. Cosmopolitan and Spanish in equal measure, the genteel area is predominately non-package & self-catering in nature, and a great place to explore further into Andalusia as well! Gibraltar, Rhonda, Tarifa, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Malaga & Cadiz are all within easy traveling distance. Gibraltar (via La Linea) & Estepona are also just a short bus ride away.

Between the complex and the beach is the pretty and well-lit seated promenade between Duquesa Port to the north and Castillo village to the south (level walk 10 minutes max in each direction). Seafront walkways North and South mean there is access from Manilva Beach (and beyond) to the south, and past Sabinillas to Casares roundabout and on to Estepona to the north.

Marina Del Castillo is located in a quiet and peaceful location yet within very easy walking distance of restaurants bars and facilities. It is the most exclusive and recently completed beachfront development in Duquesa. There is also a secure allocated underground parking space.

A very comfortable well furnished, spacious, secure (manned security with 24hr CCTV) ground floor 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with outside terrace and part of a modern beachfront apartment complex with an excellent pool. There's an LG Smart 43” TV & 100mbs free WiFi, bring your digi-box or Firestick with VPN to access UK TV etc.

There's an open plan lounge/diner with a double pull-out sofa bed for guests 5 & 6, two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite) and a spacious shaded covered terrace with a six person outdoor dining table overlooking the secure pool area. There is also a sauna and gardens. Local property management company contacts are on hand for peace of mind. Keys are available locally 24 hrs. Note only the main complex door is accessible by metal key (temporarily) and all other external and the pool door are accessed by a security 'fob' provided.

The apartment has a hydro bath, hydro massage shower, hot and cold air conditioning and a 43" Smart TV & WiFI (there is a DVD player as well). The apartment is finished to a high standard with luxury tiled floors to all rooms and walls in the wet rooms (2). The kitchen is fully fitted including fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, microwave etc. There is a clothes washing machine located outside the kitchen with clothes horse for drying. Lounge and bedrooms have total blackout electric one-shot shutters (fantastic for restful sleep at any time), these, plus double locks and security bolts on all patio doors combined with the manned and CCTV security, make the apartment ultra-secure.

Marina Del Castillo is within a very short, flat walking distance of all amenities including Duquesa Marina (the port), El Castillo village and Sabinillas town. There are also two good supermarkets 15 minutes walk away across a footbridge to the south. There are bus stops also within easy walking distance. The adjacent promenade also goes north through the port and onto the lovely Spanish town of Sabillinas, home to many more restaurants and tapas bars and a stunning beach. Whilst not adapted for wheelchair access there is level walking/wheelchair access to the apartment, reception, pool and to all local facilities in Duquesa and El Castillo.
Wander into the port and enjoy Ryders Bar, Chapter Two, The Quays , Sabor Toscana, Chili and many other great drink and eating places - Ryders and Chapter Two providing great value for money drinks. If you've never been to Duquesa before, give it a try, you'll have a really great time. Local car hire is available with pick up and drop off at Malaga or Gibraltar airports, ask me for details.

Caminar un poco más por el paseo marítimo le llevará a los chiringuitos frente a la playa y a la ciudad/centro turístico español de Sabillinas. Duquesa es un excelente lugar para una escapada familiar o romántica. Cosmopolita y española a partes iguales, esta elegante zona es predominantemente de naturaleza sin paquetes y con cocina, ¡y también es un gran lugar para explorar más a fondo Andalucía! Gibraltar, Rhonda, Tarifa, Marbella, Puerto Banús, Málaga y Cádiz se encuentran a poca distancia. Gibraltar (vía La Línea) y Estepona también están a un corto trayecto en autobús.

Entre el complejo y la playa se encuentra el bonito y bien iluminado paseo marítimo entre el Puerto de la Duquesa al norte y el pueblo de Castillo al sur (caminata nivelada de 10 minutos como máximo en cada dirección). Great apartment - highly recommend
This apartment is really well equipped with everything you need for your stay. It’s in a great location - easy 2 min walk to the port. Very quiet at night to sleep in. Great apartment
Steve, our host was very responsive to our numerous calls and emails, so 5 stars to him. The apartment comfortably sleeps 5 adults. The apartment is in a newer complex steps from the beach and numerous restaurants. Puerto de la Duquesa is a sleepy seaside village, perfect for relaxing and to "check out" from a busy work life. We will definitely contact Steve again if we decide to stay in the area.

Perfect stay
We stayed just over 3 weeks and have no complaints. Apartment was just as shown with lots of little extras to get your stay off to great start. We know the area so knew the location would be perfect. Short walk in either direction to lots of things to do, places to eat & drink with no need to drive or take a taxi. We loved getting up early for an early walk to Sabi and grab a bit of shopping. Steve is very responsive and super helpful would definitely recommend.

Excellent building but disappointing apartment. It is located on the lower ground floor next to the entrance & exit from the underground garage so all drivers, passengers plus cleaners & maintenance staff coming and going from about 4am were banging both doors. We were there three weeks but there was no change of bed linen. As the terrace was completely in the shade there was little chance of drying any washing. The kitchen is under-equipped- no chopping board, no jug, no butter dish, a dirty coffee machine, hot plate rusty & stained, and tiny preparation area. The owner was advised that the battery on the garage opener was flat so we needed to take a taxi to the next village to buy a new one. It showed that the property manager hadn’t checked anything prior to our arrival. There is a continuing bad smell in the bathroom from the drains which is probably symptomatic of the location on the lower ground floor. In summary it’s a lovely building well located for both the village and the harbour but probably the worst apartment there. Very disappointing.

The apartment is like a home from home, Steve has provided everything you could ask for on holiday. It was lovely and cool despite the heatwave and the kids loved the pool area which was immaculate. The beach is 30 seconds walk away with a lovely beach bar and the marina with a great selection of restaurants is only a few mins walk. It was great to stay here. You are never 'sure' until you open the door but pleased to say all was as described. Location was superb and Steve was always there for any assistance. The staff working to keep the site clean were very friendly and helpful. We are planning to return next year.

Fantastic Holiday in Beautiful Duquesa!
Hi. This was our 3rd time staying in Steve’s brilliant apartment. The location is so good , pool right outside the door and 1 minute from the beach. We could walk everywhere . The apartment is fantastic and we had plenty space , even with 6 staying, including 4 teenagers! This is a fantastic place for a holiday and the apartment has everything you could possibly need. It really is a home away from home. There is security all the time , and it is a very safe place to stay, no noise at night . We really loved our stay and can’t wait to go again. It was all so easy to book and collecting keys was simple. Thanks Steve for everything.

The apartment is very modern and clean with all the facilities you need to enjoy your time there. The owner was very friendly and helpful and answered any questions straight away. It is located in a prime position near to the castle and to the port of Duquesa. The beach is a minute away so ideal for families. I would recommend this property and would return again.

We started our journey home today with heavy hearts. We've had six fantastic weeks at this apartment. The location is perfect, right on the beach and just five minutes walk from the beautiful marina, with its many great restaurants. Mexican, Italian, Thai, Spanish and Indian to name a few of the beautiful flavours at Duquesa marina. A ten minute ride to Estepona, a large town by the sea, and well worth a visit. Steve, the host was great, approachable and always available. Very highly recommend.

Beautiful, clean, comfortable apartment.
We (myself, my husband, and 3 teenagers) stayed in this apartment in July 2018. The apartment was very clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The rooms were spacious with air conditioning and good quality furnishings. The terrace was roomy with a six seater table and cushioned chairs and overlooks the lovely, very well maintained, pool area. There were plenty of good quality towels including beachtowels. The kitchen was well equipped, including a dishwasher, with a separate utility area with a washing machine. The gated complex was safe and secure and there was never a problem with noise or disturbances. Access is only obtained by key or intercom to the individual apartments or securitydesk. The security and household staff in the complex were friendly and helpful. The apartment is a very short stroll to the beach, and a beautiful promenade runs, in one direction to a bustling Marina with lots of bars, restaurants, and a nightly market, and in the other direction to a quieter, more traditional, Spanish village also with a market, both within easy walking distance. Steve, the owner, was very responsive to emails and phone messages and an absolute pleasure to deal with. The arrangements for picking up and dropping off of the keys was very simple and straightforward. We all enjoyed our holiday there and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
