We had booked a room for 3. 2 single bed + sofa bed. We arrived and the room was not set accordingly. 2 single beds were attached as 1 dble and the sofa bed was not set for the 3 rd guest. We had to ask for it on our way out for dinner. When back at 11pm, the 3rd bed was still not set and we had to wait till 12am. Water in the shower was not stable. It turns cold in the middle of the shower. No amenities in the room. We asked for 1 hour late checkout which was approved, then we had someone knocking at our door 1/2 an hour in advance asking us to leave! I understand it’s high season, but service should be up to the standard of the hotel rating and housekeeping should be improved.

I Just like this place
I stayed here last year about the same time and I only return to Hotels I really like. Great public areas and a large breakfast buffet it's walking distance from bars, restaurants and beach clubs but peaceful enough to rest. I'm 99% I will be going back to Puerto Banus in August and will be staying at Hotel Occidental.

This hotel is perfectly situated near popular dining options and a short walk to the Puerto Banús designer shopping strip. Overall the room was quite spacious and relatively modern. The breakfast buffet served a variety of breakfast options (eggs, bacon, breads, yogurts, fruits, etc). The pool area was also quite nice and has an outdoor bar. The frozen margaritas were great! Only cons about this hotel were: The front desk personnel upon check-in wasn’t very friendly at all. He seemed a bit cold and annoyed actually. If you’re renting a car, the only parking available is in the garage, which was roughly $28 per day. There was also no drinking water provided in the room. Overall I rate the hotel and experience an 8/10.

The amount of perfume they stay in air will make you gag. They also allow smoking IN the rooms so be prepared not to breathe

I left the hotel and just couple of hours I realized that left my bag with clothes and sunglasses called the hotel they said sand email with information, I asked my friend to go and get it but they said there wasn’t anything left, it was worth of almost $6000, very disappointed, be extra careful don’t forget anything they won’t give it back
