Second stay, just a great as the first
My family has stayed at this location in 2019 and very much enjoyed it. It is located near a few beaches and near our local family which was a big plus again this trip. We were able to visit family and catch up and then not overwhelm them with the 5 of us. It was a great place to enjoy the area. Lots of visits to the local beaches. Just remember there is only 1 bathroom. Not a big deal for us as we knew this going up there and we just communicated and it was not an issue. Thank you for offering up this spot for others to enjoy and explore the beautiful area. Highly recommend.

Disappointed
Confusion on date of check-in @ 5pm, having to wait for a team to arrive to prepare it for us, but we’re fairly compensated for it. Three bedrooms with pull out couch in living room, but the third bedroom had wash/dryer & hot water tank in it. It had everything we needed, but could have been a lot cleaner. The views are breathtaking.

Great Spot
We certainly enjoyed our stay, very clean and comfortable. Three well apointed bedrooms with lots of linens in the bathroom. Kitchen was well equipped with space for two to cook and be with family for dinner. The view out to the small community of Margaree Harbor was beautiful. The evening sunsets and midnight stars unforgettable. We will definitely book again.

Excellent stay!
This was our 3rd time staying here and it won’t be the last! Everything was clean and comfortable and it was really easy to get in. My only criticism would be the bathroom toilet - it was a bit finicky to flush and would run if the handle wasn’t lifted back up manually. Would otherwise highly recommend this cottage! We will be back!

Fantastic venue
This was my 2nd time we have stayed here. The house has everything you could ask for. The beds are super comfortable, the view from the upper deck is breath taking, it is very clean and the location is perfect for beach access and fishing the Margaree River. It is also close enough to the new Cabot golf courses. I would definitely stay here again when I. One back to visit Margaree Harbour.

Merci!

Excellent base for exploring Cape Breton
The pictures don’t do justice to the beauty of the view from the 2nd floor living area! The cottage is clean and cosy and fully equipped with everything needed to make it home away from home. Ranald the caretaker is extremely responsive and helpful. The location makes pretty much all of Cape Breton accessible and we made trips up to the National park to the north and to Louisbourg to the east.

Clean, spacious, great communication! This rental is fully equipped with every appliance, utensil, towels and bedding you could want for an enjoyable vacation rental. We liked the easy highway access to Cheticamp, Mabou and Baddeck during our Celtic Colours visit. Thank you Ranald and James!

This house suited us perfectly.
The large open area and deck allowed us to host a large family dinner. The house is well equipped and altogether very easy and convenient. I'd certainly recommend it to any family visiting Cape Breton.

Wonderful stay!
This was our second time staying here, and it was even better this time around. Very relaxing and comfortable stay. We had everything we needed. We used the BBQ almost every night, and while it was tricky to start our first time, it gave us no trouble the rest of the week.

Nice, comfortable home, close to the river!
I've been to the Margaree Harbour Guest house numerous times and am impressed every time! It has a great view of the harbour, on a quiet street, very comfortable beds and only 10 minutes from the lower pools on the river. It's a great feeling to only be a short drive from home after a long cold day of salmon fishing! I will definitely be back!

Nice cabin,lovely view.
I would probably like to stay there again in the future. My dislikes are no TV, mainly because of baseball playoffs and NFL games. I found the pots and pans needed cleaning before use as well as the outdoor grill. Thanks

A lovely place with a spectacular view
This place is well-appointed, clean, spacious and has a beautiful view from the balcony where you'll want to have your morning coffee and happy hour drinks. The beds are super comfy. You can walk to the beach in 10 minutes or so, and pick up snacks at Laurence's store on the way. We keep coming back!

An absolute gem
Stayed here with my parents and my children. Loved the view and the porch. Loved the living space. Preparing our own meals was important to us. Dishwasher made the vacation. We got scallops from the Lobster pound across the bridge (Island Sunset), and fresh salmon at the Margaree co-op. The co-op also has alcohol available. We liked the nearby craft shops - two Mac pottery mugs and more), Cape Breton Clay (pottery trays and serving dishes, delicately painted, check out Bell's depiction of fiddleheads). There is a good selection of wool and hand knit sweaters at the craft and ice cream place. We went up to The Barn at Normaway Inn to hear fiddlers. They were a treat. Place was spotless and there is laundry (washer, dryer) on site. Wild blueberries for the picking behind the litte church. There is a small grocery store near the light house. Prices are good, and they have second hand books too.

Ideal Cabot Trail location and property
On a detached lot, the property is walking distance from Cabot Trail and a beach, and about 10 minutes away from nearby restaurant and grocery store --- which makes it an ideal location to visit Cabot Trail, Cheticamp and surrounding areas. It's a quiet neighbourhood, which was perfect for our family of six, and we thoroughly enjoyed staying there during our visit. The barbecue on the upper deck was ideal for a sunset dinner and the large living and dining room is ideal for socializing. The single bathroom requires a bit of planning to accommodate 6 guests, but everything else was exactly what we were looking for. Our hosts kept the place in very good condition, and with plenty of windows, our stay in July was pleasant.

Wonderful getaway
I stayed here with my husband and parents and we were very impressed! The house is cozy, clean, and well-stocked! We wanted for nothing during our stay. The view is terrific and the beds are very comfortable. We had a minor issue with the BBQ and the property manager was prompt and helped solve the problem in no time! We truly appreciated the response, and on a Friday night, no less. The property entrance is a bit hard to find when coming from the Margaree Harbour bridge due to the trees (both cars drove past it upon arrival) but we had no issues afterwards. Our first impressions of the house were so great that within 30 minutes we were already planning to come back for a longer stay next summer! We didn't want to leave. Can't wait to visit again!

Cape Breton Jewel
Another Cape Breton jewel that is a wonderful experience. This comfortable, fully equipped property was just like being at home for a week. The cozy fireplace, and in floor heating made each and every cold and bluster day seem almost tropical. You enjoy the beautiful expansive calm and roaring ocean view of Margaree Harbour with all of its changing magnifigance daily. A wonderful place to get caught up on reading and relaxing !!
